Wes Streeting is the 13/2 favourite to be the next Labour Leader

After a tough start to life as Prime Minister for Keir Starmer, UK Betting Sites are already offering betting odds for who will be the next Labour Leader after his time in charge comes to a close.

Wes Streeting is the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and the past month has seen his odds tumble to favourite to be the next person to lead the Labour Party after Starmer.

Of course it may well be years until we see any sort of replacement happen as Labour Leader, but that hasn't stopped bookmakers from offering odds on who will take over one of the key roles in UK Politics.

Paddy Power's latest betting odds give a 13.3% probability that Streeting is the man chosen to replace Starmer next, with four female candidates following after him looking to become the first female leader of the Labour Party.

Former favourite Andy Burnham has drifted right out to 10/1

Andy Burnham has long been favourite to be the next Labour Leader but he has dramatically drifted in the betting market in the past few weeks.

Burnham had been as short as 3/1 with some bookmakers to take over as Labour Leader when Starmer does eventually leave his role but he's now gone right out to 10/1 in the market.

Nothing in particular has been reported in the news with Burnham to give good reason for the change in odds, but he's definitely gone ice cold when it comes to betting on him.

The most recent betting market suggests there's just a 9.1% chance now of Burnham being the next Labour Leader with those odds putting him alongside Yvette Cooper and Lisa Nandy with the Top 10 political betting sites.

Keir Starmer's first month as Prime Minister has been tricky to say the least

"The work of change begins immediately”, promised Keir Starmer during his first address as Prime Minister when he entered 10 Downing Street last month.

Fast forward to this week and riots across the UK have already caused question marks across the media around Keir Starmer's time in charge.

Smarkets are even giving odds of 12/1 that Starmer LEAVES his position before the end of 2024 but such a dramatic state of affairs doesn't look like happening any time soon.
