Conservatives are 25/1 to win after drifting out from the 12/1 they were last month

The Conservative Party have not held the City of Chester seat for 7 years now and they've now drifted out to 25/1 to do so again in the by-election.

According to the betting odds, that gives Conservatives just a 3.8% chance of winning the upcoming by-election.

Labour's last win in Chester back in 2019 came with 49.6% of the votes with a majority over the Conservatives by 11.3%.

By-election betting increases in popularity month-by-month

By-Elections happen between General Elections when a seat becomes vacant when the current MP resigns or has to leave their position for another matter, as seen in this example in Chester.

The reasons By-Elections take place could be for any of the following reasons:

  • Death
  • Resignation
  • Bankruptcy
  • Moves to the House Of Lords
  • Convicted of a criminal offence

Betting on By-Elections has increased in popularity with punters liking that they can see various polls to guide them to who to put their money on.
