Scheduled to take place in February of each year at the Musselburgh Racecourse is the Scottish Stayers Novices Hurdle, a race contested over three miles for novice hurdlers.

The race is a class two which was established in 2013 and serves as a trial for the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival a month later, Bardenstown Lad the winner of this race in 2022 went on to finish third in the Albert Bartlett at 20/1.
