UK were 8/1 to hold referendum on Monarchy when last market was live

The betting market originally offered odds of 8/1 that the Monarchy would be voted on in the UK before the end of 2024 but now that end date has changed to 2030.

Smarkets are currently still offering odds that the referendum on the Monarchy takes place in 2024 but those odds are well out to 500/1 to happen in the next 8 months.

Odds had shortened following a YouGov poll that showed a nine point increase in the desire for a referendum since September 2022 with support growing for a vote against the Monarchy.

Bookies have offered odds that it happens following Donald Trump's interview with Nigel Farage on GB News where the topic was mentioned.

Farage asked Trump if Prince Harry would receive any special privileges if he was found to have lied about his drug use on his visa application to which Trump replied, "No. We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied they’ll have to take appropriate action".
