Super Mario Bros. Movie now as short as 4/11 to be highest grossing movie of 2023
Betting remains available for the highest grossing film of 2023 and the Super Mario Bros. Movie is still favourite in the betting market to lead the way at 4/11.
The market has changed slightly since last month with Super Mario Bros. Movie's odds shortening further from 8/15 to the 4/11 odds it's at now.
Paddy Power now say there's a 73% chance that the Nintendo character's movie is the highest grossing film at the worldwide box office this year.
Box Office Mojo gives the film a global figure of $1,284,493,728 at the Box Office so far this year which is nearly $500m more than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in second place.

Former favourite Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 now nowhere to be seen in the betting market
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was a longtime favourite to lead the way at the Box Office in 2023 but the movie has now dropped right out of the betting market.
The Marvel film was released at the start of May and has made over $748m at the Global Box Office so far, but falls massively behind Super Mario.
Due to it already being released there's next to no chance of it making an extra $500m to eclipse Super Mario at the Box Office before the end of the year.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse the new second favourite at 10/3
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is now the second favourite in the betting market at 10/3 to be the highest grossing film of the year with the movie being released today (Friday 2nd June).
The first movie made $384m at the global Box Office and the sequel will need a massive performance that is much better than that to eclipse Super Mario.
Deadline reported that Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse had the second best preview night ever for an animated movie in US Box Office history with $16m made alone off previews.
That preview night was 4.5x better than the first movie did on it's preview night and it'll be interesting to see if the trend continues going forward for the film.
