The Scottish Stewards Cup is the Scottish equivalent of the Stewards Cup, which is run at Glorious Goodwood. This is a Class 2 handicap that is run over six furlongs and is open to runners aged three or older. The race is run in July of each year, having been established in 2001, and the three-year-old runners get a 5lb allowance from the older runners.

How competitive is the Scottish Stewards Cup market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2018 when the race had an over-round of 106%. The race in 2014 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 129%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Scottish Stewards Cup, the over-round has been 121%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £121 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2026 Scottish Stewards Cup Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Scottish Stewards Cup Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Scottish Stewards Cup races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Jordan Electrics (1:07.82) in 2024
  2. George Bowen (1:09.03) in 2018
  3. Paws For Thought (1:09.06) in 2023

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Scottish Stewards Cup next time out, then you would have backed a total of 2 winners. Backing all 19 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of -4.50. Remember to use the racing predictions along with the information on this page to find a bet on the 2026 Scottish Stewards Cup.

Over the last 20 renewals, it was Jordan Electrics, trained by Jim Goldie and ridden by Paul Mulrennan, who set the fastest winning time in the Scottish Stewards Cup. That runner won the race in a time of 1:07.82 in 2024. At the other end of the scale, it was the combination of trainer Tim Easterby and jockey Andrew Elliott with Grissom who set the slowest winning time; the race-winning time was 1:14.98 in the 2012 renewal.

What the expert says...
A large number of the winners of this race will go on to run at Glorious Goodwood with the Stewards Cup the target. Between 2007 & 2024, eleven of the winners went on to run in that race. Knot In Wood (3rd in 2008) and Orion's Bow (2nd in 2016) both went close, and Commanche Falls (2021) went on to win that race.
