This area covers a large part of the Lincolnshire coastline, including seaside resorts Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea, which have faced deprivation with the decline of tourism, unlike the more popular Skegness. The inland towns of Louth and Horncastle, situated in a rural region of the Lincolnshire Wolds, are known for their farming industries, with the majority of residents earning modest to mid-level incomes amidst low unemployment.

🇬🇧 Louth & Horncastle, Lincolnshire:

Conservative stronghold since '97 with MP Victoria Atkins since 2015. Coastal deprivation contrasts farming prosperity inland. 🌾🌊 Successor to longest-serving Con MP Tapsell.

Formed in 1997, this seat has seen Conservative dominance, with the closest competition coming from Labour in 1997. Victoria Atkins succeeded Peter Tapsell, who had been the constituency’s MP since 1966, following his representation of East Lindsey and Horncastle, and earlier Nottingham West. Tapsell, who had a break in service, was the longest-serving Conservative MP until his retirement, when he was also the Father of the House, a title passed to Sir Gerald Kaufman in 2015.
