The ground was much softer in the last three, and his record suggests he prefers it good to soft, which he gets today. He receives plenty of weight from the first five in the early betting market, four of whom are stepping up to 3m for the first time. If there's good pace, which looks likely with a few wanting to be prominent, it will suit the 9yo who likes to come from off the pace. With the rider's claim he is on a fair mark, and 28/1 offers some good each-way value, as the longer run-in from the home turn should suit his style well.
