Russ Cook is the latest entrant in the betting market for Sports Personality of the Year

Bookmakers now have a new contender in the betting for Sports Personality of the Year this year with 'Hardest Geezer' Russ Cook now in at 12/1 to win the award later this year.

Cook is an endurance athlete who became the first person to ever run the full length of Africa beginning in South Africa before ended in Tunisia at the start of April this year.

The runner and YouTuber set himself this challenge as the next of several he had already done with Cook running from Istanbul to Worthing, England in 68 days back in 2019.

2020 saw him run a marathon while pulling a car before his 2021 challenge which saw him buried alive for 7 days with just 20 litres of water.

Bet365's latest betting market for the SPOTY award has seen Cook become a new entry with his £1m raised for charity instantly seeing social media go mad for him to be added to the betting odds.

Jude Bellingham shortens into favourite after reaching Champions League Final with Real Madrid

We've got a new favourite in the betting market for the Sports Personality of the Year award with English midfielder Jude Bellingham now shortening into 4/1 to win.

Bellingham has been a massive player for Real Madrid this season after moving from Borussia Dortmund last summer and now he has reached the Champions League Final against his former club.

Betting odds now put him at 4/1 to win the SPOTY award this year and it would be no surprise to see his odds shorten further if Real Madrid win the Champions League and then he has a big summer at the Euros for England.

Luke Littler has been favourite since the start of the year after his breakthrough tournament in Darts

Darts sensation Luke Littler has been the favourite to win the SPOTY award for the last 4 months after his breakthrough spell in Darts has saw him come from nowhere into a household name.

17-year-old Littler finished runner up in the World Darts Championship at the age of 16 years and 347 days making him the youngest player to ever reach the final of the tournament.

He's followed that by becoming a massive part of Darts as we know it now with a win in the Bahrain Darts Masters followed by four night wins in the Premier League Darts this year.

Littler is 9/2 now to win the Sports Personality of the Year award with the latest betting market suggesting an 18.2% chance of him winning.
