Biggest market mover in recent weeks Paapa Essiedu now 3/1 in market

Paapa Essiedu has been the biggest market mover in recent weeks to be the next Bond, with his odds coming in from 40/1 to just 2/1 back in April.

He's since drifted slightly though to 3/1 third favourite in the betting but was linked to the role through British director Danny Boyle who signed up to direct the 25th Bond movie back in 2018 before leaving.

Boyle spoke highly about Essiedu in an interview with Esquire back in 2022 and a year later he'd moved into favourite to be Bond.

Happy Valley star James Norton 4/1 to be the next Bond

James Norton has also been an actor who's odds have moved in in recent months to be the next James Bond following his brilliant performance in BBC drama Happy Valley.

Norton received praise from fans and critics for that role and this instantly saw his odds start to shorten to be Bond with bookies now making him 4/1.

The London born actor has been linked with being James Bond for a long time with an interview back on ITV's This Morning back in 2018 seeing him discuss Bond rumours.

5 years later and there are still links with him getting the role although the betting odds say there's a 20% chance of him being Bond.

What the expert says..
James Norton remains in the top 5 of the betting to be the next James Bond with the actor discussing the role as far back as 5 years ago on This Morning!
