Kemi Badenoch remains the betting favourite to be next Conservative Leader
Business secretary Kemi Badenoch remains the favourite with UK Betting Sites to replace Rishi Sunak as the next Conservative leader with odds offered after the Conservatives lost the election.
Badenoch has been top of the market to be the next Tory leader for well over half a year and she remains that way after the Tories were thrashed at the pollls.
With the Conservatives losing to Labour, Rishi Sunak will be stepping down as leader of the Tories.
Paddy Power's betting odds now say there's a 20% chance that Badenoch is the woman who replaces Sunak as Tory leader after previously running for the top role back in 2022.

Rishi Sunak has previously hinted that he would not quit as Tory leader immediately if they lose
Current Conservative leader Rishi Sunak hinted earlier this week that he would stay on as Tory leader if they lose the General Election saying he would put himself at the service of his country.
Previous party leaders who lose elections usually resign pretty quickly in a matter of days or even hours and it's likely that Sunak will face pressure to resign if he was to lose.
Michael Howard, who lost to Tony Blair back in 2005, remained Conservative leader for 6 months to let the party revise their leadership process and help a stronger candidate replace him.

Security minister Tom Tugendhat is second favourite in the betting odds
Tom Tugendhat was promoted to the role of Security minister by Liz Trussand previously ran in the leadership contest that was won by Truss back in 2022.
Tugendhat placed fourth in that leadership battle and he may well decide to go again this time around with his work on the Foreign Affairs Committee seeing his popularity rise.
The former soldier has represented the Kent constituency since 2015 and earlier this month asked Sunak to increase military spending to 2.5%.
Bookies have Tugendhat as the second favourite in the market to replace Sunak next with the Tory party potentially wanting him in the big role.
