2026 Lansdown Stakes Preview

Scheduled to take place in April of each year at the Bath Racecourse is the Lansdown Stakes, which is one of the highlights of the racing calendar at Bath. This Listed race is restricted to fillies and mares who are aged three or older and is run over a trip of five furlongs and ten yards. With the usual decent ground, it can be a quick run race!

How competitive is the Lansdown Stakes market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2010, when the race had an over-round of 113%. The race in 2023 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 128%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Lansdown Stakes, the over-round has been 121%, which means the bookie expects to pay out ÂŁ100 for every ÂŁ121 which is bet.

Below you will find the 2026 Lansdown Stakes Trends. See which patterns have occurred over the recent renewals that you may be able to use for the next renewal. We also have a section that looks at the Lansdown Stakes Trend Analysis.

These are the top three quickest-run Lansdown Stakes races over the last 20 renewals:

  1. Electric Storm (58.30) in 2025
  2. Enticing (58.75) in 2007
  3. Priceless (59.67) in 2017

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? Over the past 20 renewals, if you had followed the winner of the Lansdown Stakes next time out, then you would have backed a total of 3 winners. Backing all 20 runners who have been out since their win at SP next time out would have returned an LSP of +9.00. Whilst we wait for the 2026 Lansdown Stakes, remember you can get daily racing predictions from the expert tipsters on the racing predictions page.

The runner that holds the record over the past 20 renewals for the slowest time in the race was set in the 2005 renewal when Indian Maiden from Malcolm Saunders under the guidance of Ted Durcan, won in a time of 1:07.22, whilst at the other end of the spectrum, Electric Storm, trained by James Tate and ridden by Daniel Tudhope set the quickest time of 58.30 in the 2025 renewal.

What the expert says...
Three of the five winners between 2021 & 2025 went on to run in the Temple Stakes at Haydock next time out; however, they finished 4th, 6th & 6th, so be cautious if following the winner taking that route or in general, of the 20 winners (2004-25), only 3 of those won next time out.
