Keeneland Racetrack opened in 1936 and is situated in Lexington, Kentucky.
The dirt track is an oval of 8.5 furlongs; the turf course is a 7.5-furlong oval (inside the dirt layout).

Keeneland Notable Races
Being one of North America's top tracks, Keeneland plays host to over thirty graded stakes races.
The spring meeting in April features fifteen graded stakes races, including the Blue Grass Stakes, a Grade 1 event recognised as a Kentucky Derby prep over nine furlongs for three-year-olds with a purse of $1,000,000.
The 'fall' meet runs over seventeen days in October, hosts plenty of Breeders Cup prep races featuring six Grade 1 events, including the Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes with a purse of $1,000,000; the winner automatically receives an invite for the Breeders Cup Mile.
