Back down in grade here after a decent run at York and seems to remain in great form. Could still be improving. Should go very close.

Pilu has proven success at 6f on good to firm ground and remains competitive despite dropping to 5f. His recent fifth-place finish at Newmarket shows he can handle the track, and if he stays sound, his form suggests he can challenge in this Class 3 handicap.

Truly Glamorous looks to have a solid chance in the 4.10 at Goodwood. She has shown consistent form against useful opposition and looks well suited by today's conditions. With a strong turn of foot and the potential for further improvement, she can get a good position early and prove tough to pass in the closing stages.

Had won her first two starts on the AW before being switched to turf for her handicap debut here three starts ago, when she ran well to finish a close-up 4th of the 17 runners. She's quite a speedy sort and put that to good effect when a close-up 3rd of 16 at Epsom next time, making the most of her favourable draw. Tried in listed company last time at Ayr and wasn't disgraced in finishing a close 5th. She has to be a serious contender here back in handicap company.

This is a competitive and open race, and a case can be made for most. I am taking a chance on Old Is Gold for Andrew Balding, ridden by James Doyle. Has a low draw, and low to middle have dominated over the years. Luck needed.

This is a humdinger of a three-year-old sprint handicap, with numerous runners having strong claims. David O'Meara has had a lot of success in Goodwood handicaps over the years, and Manatee Mehmas could well add to his tally. The selection won his Doncaster novice in fine style on debut, then came up a little short in Pattern company afterwards. He was a decent third in a strong York handicap and meets the ones he finished behind there on better terms here. It would be no surprise to think the trainer has had this race in mind for a while.

Excuses last time out for the 3yo filly but she comes here fresh after a six week break. She was a close 2nd of 16 in a useful £39K handicap in her previous race despite struggling to find a gap at a crutial stage. That form has been given a big boost since by the first and third. One And Gone looks like an absolute formatting gift in the Buccellati Handicap at Goodwood. Ian Williams' rapidly improving sprinter took his game to a whole new level when making all the running to secure a dominant victory over this exact course and distance last month. He proved his absolute comfort with the track's unique downhill gradient before displaying a brilliant attitude to follow up under a penalty at Sandown. Crucially, the BOB model flags him as an outstanding selection because of a massive draw advantage. Berthed high up in stall 12, he is perfectly positioned to capture the golden stand-side rail strip where front-running momentum reigns supreme. Unburdened by negative gear alterations and completely thriving in his current mood, his early forecast price of 16/1 represents an incredible market overlay that simply cannot be ignored.

He comes in at his best, fresh off a win at Nottingham, and has a history of strong performances at Goodwood. With his preference for the expected fast summer ground, he presents a solid each-way betting opportunity at 20/1.

Baker Blue could be worth a crack. He won a C4 back in Feb after a duff start off an 87 on the AW. The latest run to second was in a C3 on turf off a 94, and he's up just 1 lb for that. Expect a run from the front. EW 5P

River Spey should be forgiven his latest run at Newmarket as he completely blew the start he won previously at Windsor and showed he acts on the course as a two year old when finishing 3rd of 15 over course and distance at this Meeting last July.

Kolkata Night showed some improvement in recent efforts when keeping on into fourth at Newmarket earlier this month. He has won over today's distance and on fast ground. The horse has dropped to an official rating one pound higher than his last winning mark. Pierre-Louis Jamin has been in the saddle for both of the horse's wins and regains the ride.

U S S CHARLESTON wasn't beaten far by Schrodinger's Cat (13/2), Nanna's Shadow (7/1) and She's Got A Brother (15/2) at the Epsom Dash in June and even though he's backtracked since then he's considered each-way as he's better terms than all of these in this rematch, so can't be too easily dismissed.
