Dylan Cunha had a breakthrough year in 2025, and I can see him building on that this year given how things are going currently. He won the Brocklesby two years ago, so does know what it takes. It's impossible to be definitive about the race as they are all unraced two-year-olds, and stakes need to be kept to a minimum. On the positive side for Step To Glory, he is bred to be a smart, sharp two-year-old, is one of the earlier-foaled contenders, and comes from that upwardly mobile yard.

I was at Ayr in September when El Burhan won a competitive handicap in a very taking fashion. He has been lightly raced, which may indicate that he isn't the most robust of horses. Because of that, I feel it's likely he will have been fully prepared to do his absolute best on his return, as he might not be seen very often.

Prior to his gelding operation, Eternal Force hadn't produced a great deal. However, since then he has won all three races in the manner of a progressive animal. He does need to take a big step forward on what he's done so far, but William Haggas has a very good record with this sort. He is a very short price for a race as competitive as the Lincoln, but I'm prepared to risk that the trainer has one that's a bit better than average on his hands.

It's quite hard to know what to make of these three-year-old maidens at this early point of the season, but I'm willing to believe that Valenday will have improved over the winter. He ran two races at York in the autumn which were full of promise. Hopefully he will have trained on to allow him to fulfil his potential.

King's Trail had his first run here in December, winning fairly easily despite showing some green traits. There are no clues from those finishing closest behind, as they haven't been seen since, so it's hard to fathom the value of the form. It seems likely that the selection will have learned plenty from the experience and can put that to good use.
