Trouville is a lightly raced three year old who recorded a career best effort last time with a keeping on fourth at Doncaster, not beaten far. On that showing he is suited by 12 furlongs on a galloping track with good to soft going (which is forecast today). Trouville has also run well on good ground when second at Newbury. This colt is from a very good family which has produced several smart performers. The granddam won a Group 1 race on the Newmarket Rowley course. Trouville is himself by a French Derby winner out of a Galileo mare and there should be further improvement. His stable has saddled winners on each of the last two days.

Met Office is of interest here based on his 50/1 success in a 12 furlongs Wolverhampton handicap in November. That win followed a tailed off last placing. It was a similar story 29 days ago when Met Office finished last, beaten a long way, at Epsom. The soft ground and Epsom track may not have suited. Now one pound lower in the weights compared to that Wolverhampton success, Met Office is given a chance here at another big price. His stable saddled a winner yesterday.
