EW Phillip Hobbs is 20/77 wins at Leicester if his horses get sent off 10-1 or less and his Not A Light performed with credit in stable debut (previously trained by Polly Curling) after a 198 day break posting a RPR of 106 in a decent hurdle at Chepstow beaten 10.75l the winner Makin'yourmindup has won since and is rated 128 and the horse that finished 6l behind Great Heart'jac is 2-1f for a novice handicap chase in the 13:50 at this card so form is clearly respected - previous owner of Not A Light W G Cleary owns one other Troubled Times 1-2-4-1 (Polly Curling ) winning two bumpers so the a good breeding ground and the fact that current owner Tim Syder has bought this horse speaks volumes as he has had 106 jumps winners and Not A Light could go well - negative for me is I feel Hobbs might be lining up a more valuable handicap so each way here in case connections are going to protect handicap mark

WIN This is a class 4 handicap and Crimson King 5/28 wins on AW a CD winner and has won three times at Lingfield for Michael Appleby - two of those wins were in class 3 contests so capable in a higher grade - last won in January off a 75 and runs off 74 today (has also won in December) - Michael Appleby horses always have to be feared this time of here and he may be looking for some recompense after Finery Starsong and Sir Gregory all lost yesterday after attracting some heavy market support

EW This a race predominantly filled with fillies and Roman Tempest is the only colt to compete - bet in to 18-1 from 28-1 on handicap debut over a mile and was nearest at the finish so today step up in trip to 10f should suit - today's owner Alicia Aldis owned the dam Seasonal Cross trained by today's trainer Simon Dow and the mare was brought on slowly then won a handicap off 58 and then won 3 of next 4 starts - Dow has looked after Roman Tempest and the fact he's not been gelded supports that theory - Roman Tempest races off just 51 and could have the potential to string a few wins together over the winter - Dow shows a LSP in the month of December 15/107 wins and 50/107 placed since 2012 - Roman is cracking ew bet with four places on offer

WIN Marco Botti is a master with 2yo landing 161 winners since 2012 with 93 coming on AW and has exceeded himself since 2021 with 22 wins and a LSP of £126.58 and his Bridge Water makes debut for owners Scuderia Sagam Srls & Partner who have had one 2yo winning a class 2 handicap with Coco Jamboo at Newmarket in September and rated 83 with Botti - Bridge Water has no pedigree to speak of but Bridge Water cost 27000 so should be pretty decent - Botti landed a 100-1 debutant 2yo Giovaletta at Kempton last December and hoping Botti is lining up another big priced debutante winner under Stefano Chirchi - 25-1 but could drift as negative is site Starspangledbanner is useless on AW but worth chancing at the price

WIN Dark Island is an unexposed 3yo gelding trained by Heather Main and owned by Donal Kerr Mains biggest supporter - Dark Island has run twice at Kempton winning over CD under Rossa Ryan then was disappointing on next visit over a furlong longer when sent off favourite - the drop back to 11f off a 3lb higher mark than last win should be well within this geldings grasp - Heather has her yard in fine fettle 2/5 wins in recent weeks Flying Spirit and Wizarding both owned by today's owner Donald Kerr
