Furthur and Scandanavia both stay this distance well, and little separated them in the 14f Queen's Vase at Ascot, where Furthur, 2nd, kept to the inside throughout, whilst Scandanavia, just behind in 5th, was trapped out wide throughout, with both up with the pace throughout. It may be another close finish, but Furthur ground out his win well at Newbury first time out, making most and going away at the finish, and only disappointed in the Chester Vase when a slow start meant he was held up and never involved. Another prominent role may see him, Furthur, win again.

Ghostwriter has not won since his unbeaten in three races two-year-old days. But he was tried for the first time over 12f last time out at Ascot. Despite getting outpaced, he rallied over the last one and a half furlongs to finish in 3rd place, ahead of Palladium in 4th in the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes. He should confirm that form and looks the likely winner.
