Ex-Irish trained 5yo mare, lightly raced. Two UK runs this summer, and an 8lb lower mark now. Not disgraced last time out when 7th of 11 in a strong run handicap at the very sharp Cartmel track. The majority of her rivals that day were rated 104-122. Only one rival rated above 91 in this handicap. A recent four months could see her in a better light on her return.

Solid form from the 6yo in his last four runs, a win and two near misses over hurdles. Two runs back he made his chase debut, only beaten 5L. More to come from this one and he’s on a handy looking mark.

Just six starts over hurdles for the 6yo, not disgraced in his three handicap runs. Improvement possible after nine months off the track and he’s 9lb lower from his opening mark. I like the jockey booking, 7 winners when riding for this yard and a huge 41% strike rate.

Lightly raced 5-year-old. Back from a five-month break last month, 2nd of 12, only outpaced on the run in and clear of the rest. The winner won again next time out and is now rated 12 lb higher. The selection can improve for the run and is only a lb higher in the weights.

Ex-Irish trained 5yo. He wasn’t beaten far in four hurdle runs this summer, and no disrespect to UK racing, but they were probably better quality handicaps than this class 5 contest. He’s now making his UK debut on a fair mark.

The 10yo returned from a nine month break three weeks ago and should be better for the run. A consistent type, win or placed in 8 of 13 chase races. He was beaten just 3L last Dec in a decent class 2 handicap and runs off the same mark in this contest with just 10-2 on his back. Question marks against a few of these rivals.

Lightly raced and unexposed 8-year-old. He has 1 win from 1 over hurdles. His chase form reads 2211. Back from a seven-month break with a win over this 26f C/D three weeks ago in a useful novice chase. A 3lb higher mark for this similar novice chase, but his OR and RPR are easily the best on offer, and he should be a big player if there are no ill effects from his last race.

The favourite was a narrow winner of this Grade 2 chase last year but he did have six hard races in his last campaign and the 9yo is not getting any younger. The selection was progressive in his last campaign, winning 4 from 6. He was a Grade 1 novice winner at Sandown during Dec. Only beaten a length in the Grade 1 ‘Arkle’ Chase at the festival during March. Only a 7yo and he can have more to offer this time around.
