The 3yo filly is making her debut. Nicely bred. Trainer is having a great year. Strong jockey booking and a good draw. Average looking maiden stakes.

The 8-year-old is useful on his day, winning or placing in 18 AW races. In good form, he was runner-up over this 16.5f C/D last time out. The 3rd in the race won his next two starts, and the winner ran well next time out. He’ll be fresh after a 7-week break. Good jockey booking. On a career-low mark, every chance in this low-grade handicap.

The 4yo filly wasn’t beaten far in her last two races after dropping down in grade, both runs over this 7f C/D. She has a good low draw for this handicap. She started the year off on a 15lb higher mark. She has the added help of a good apprentice jockey who can claim a very useful 7lb.

The 6yo is in good form, three runs since April, three very near misses and good RPR ratings posted. Lost out late on two weeks ago at this track and now drops down to a 5f trip. This handicap is not as strong. He likes to make the running and stall 3 should be ideal for this dash.

Unexposed 3yo filly, four career runs. She was a good runner-up last time out, on her handicap debut, sent off as the favourite that day. The form looks decent for this level. Worth another chance in this weak looking handicap.

The 3yo filly won over this 6f C/D on her handicap debut four weeks ago, posting a good rating despite a poor start and racing wide. The 3rd in the race has given the form a nice boost since. Unexposed after just four career runs. Good low draw and a strong and more experienced jockey is taking over in the saddle.

American Raider. The 5-year-old has 8 wins from 12, looking progressive and loves the fast ground. He has won three Grade 1 races from his last four starts. His last win was in April, after coming off a 6-month break, a cozy 4-length success, and it’s possible he’s still improving. His RPR ratings put him in the mix. Not here to make up the numbers and worth an each-way shout.

Top trainer Charlie Appleby has an excellent record with his 2yo runners, including this year with 11 turf winners for a huge 46% strike rate. One of his best will be aimed at this Group 2 contest. The selection, with jockey William Buick booked for the ride, has 2 wins from 2. He was a good novice stakes winner under a penalty five weeks ago - high rating posted - both the 2nd and 3rd have won since, both posting good ratings. He should be a big player.

The 5yo mare was very unlucky last year. She ran in five Group 1 races and suffered five very narrow defeats. She returned from a 6-month break during April and a useful £696K Meydan Group 1. Every chance she is still getting stronger. Suited by the fast ground top and jockey Ryan Moore is in the saddle. She comes here fresh after a 10-week break. She’s drawn in stall 1 in this 23-runner contest, and if there is a bias on the track, she could gain a big advantage.

The 3yo was a close runner-up in the 2000 Guineas early May. Jockey error that day? He meets that winner again, but it’s very possible that the selection has taken another big step forward after an impressive 4L win in the Irish 2000 Guineas four weeks ago. Might be hard to beat in this Group 1.

Unexposed 4yo, 2 wins from 6. Two runs this year, both in Group 3 company. Outpaced late on last time out but not given a hard time, maybe with this race in mind. He has improved RPR ratings in each of his last four runs after stepping up in trip each time. He’s going over further in this contest and is now stepping back into handicap company. He was beaten by two runners rated 106 and 113 in that last race, his mark of 98 in this handicap can give him a chance.

Four runs last year for the 4-year-old, losing by a head in the Irish 2000 Guineas. On his next start, he won a 19-runner Group 3 at Royal Ascot on fast ground. Only beaten 2 lengths on possibly unsuitable soft ground four weeks ago, but the run should put him right for this race. Every chance at this Listed level.

Progressive 4yo, winning 3 of his last 5 starts, all on the AW. Maybe going too quick at the front end last time out in Group 3. Comes here fresh after a 4-month break with likely improvement possible and kept fresh for this Ascot run. His turf mark is 10lb lower than his current AW mark, but he is proven on quick turf ground, only beaten a neck on fast turf ground last August in a useful £39K handicap. This race looks like a long-term target, and he has a strong jockey booking.
