Lightly raced 7-year-old. Back from a seven-month break with a nice chase debut four weeks ago, 3rd of 11, not helped by being badly hampered four out. Something to build on. The slower ground is a plus. Better off at the weights and now facing much lower-rated rivals.

Lightly raced 6yo. Three recent runs after coming off a seven-month break, finding his form earlier in the month when beaten by just 3L. He was ridden by a very inexperienced jockey that day. Same mark for this handicap but in much better hands now. No problem with the 3m trip and better ground.

The two market leaders both returned from a break recently with a win on their chase debut. I feel the selection faced the better-quality rivals, and there were 15 of them.

Respectable staying on fifth over hurdles four weeks ago, after coming off a break. Good on the flat, rated 81. His current 111 hurdle mark, plus 5 lb taken off by a good apprentice, puts him on a handy mark. Room for improvement in the jumping. This handicap is not strong, and the longer trip could help.

Just four starts over hurdles for the 6yo, and this ex-PTP should be fine over fences in this handicap on his chase debut. A return prep hurdle run four weeks ago should have him sharper now. A win and a narrow defeat during the spring is solid form, and he could be much better than his opening chase mark of 113.

The 6-year-old was a close runner-up in his last three runs during the spring. He came back four weeks ago, after a six-month break, with a cosy 3L, 13-runner handicap chase win. More improvement is to come. 26f on slow ground is ideal, and a higher mark might not stop him.

The 6-year-old is capable on his day, with four career wins over hurdles. He has been ridden by an amateur jockey in his eight races during the last twelve months. No disrespect, she was a very poor jockey, but she did have a win and, off his current mark, a couple of near misses. A good pro is in the saddle now, which should be worth quite a few pounds. Trip and conditions will suit the selection.

The 7-year-old mare looks set for a good chasing career. Two NHF bumper wins, two wins from four over hurdles, and a 5-length defeat in a Grade 2 novice hurdle. Plenty of ability. Now sent over fences, and chasing looks like her future. She’s had eight months off the track to polish up her jumping and has a decent opening handicap mark.

The 7-year-old mare wasn’t beaten far in a couple of handicap chase races in her last campaign. She is facing lower-rated rivals now, has a few pounds lower mark, and no problem with the slow ground. She ran well for a long way three weeks ago after coming off an eight-month break, and it should set her up nicely for this contest.

The relatively unexposed 4yo can build on his last run and will be fresh after a 10-week break. He finished third last time out, outpaced late on, but he was beaten by two 107+ rated runners and this is a 75??'100 rated handicap. There is room for improvement and he is 6 lb better off at the weights with a good apprentice claiming 5 lb.

The 5yo ran well in his last campaign. He returned from an eight-month break at the end of last month with a win. More progress is very possible. He is only 3 lb higher in the weights, and his rivals make very little appeal.

The 7-year-old mare is capable on her day. She was an 8-length handicap winner during May and wasn’t beaten far in two summer runs. Suited by this trip and fast ground. She will be fresh after a three-month break. Helped by a 7 lb claiming jockey now, and this front runner might just need to be pointed in the right direction in this low-grade contest.

The 4yo could be worth a punt after finding his feet over this 5f C/D last week. He was runner-up that day and 2l clear of the rest. He had been rated a huge 22 lb higher earlier this summer when making his debut for this yard.

Solid form in defeat from the 7yo this year. Down to a handy mark now, and a strong jockey booking. Interestingly, his last polytrack run came in 2023, which resulted in a 7L handicap win.

The 5yo was below par last time out but can bounce back after a recent two-month break. He had gone very close in his three previous races, has good RPR ratings, and is still weighted to run a big race. He is a previous 8f C/D winner, and all his rivals have some questions to answer.

Lightly raced 3yo filly. She didn’t land a blow five weeks ago but stayed on nicely in the 11-runner handicap. A 4 lb lower mark, longer trip and drop in grade could see her playing a part in this handicap.

Capable 3yo filly. Three runs July??'Sept: two narrow defeats and a win. A good 4th of 11 four weeks ago, which was on heavy ground. She has ability. On a handy mark and running in a very weak Class 6 handicap. It’s her debut on the Polytrack surface, which could suit her.

Ex-Irish trained 4yo. Four runs this year. Good run last time out, 3rd of 13. Not the clearest of runs; stayed on well. It was just a second start that day for his UK trainer, ridden by a very inexperienced amateur jockey. In better hands now. Turned out again quickly but could be much better than his low rating.

Lightly raced 3yo filly, a little hit or miss, but she has posted two good ratings in defeat from her last four races. She was average five weeks ago at this track, her second start on the polytrack, but the trainer is happy to try her again over this 6f C/D, which I feel is positive. Nice mark, good draw, strong jockey. Overpriced.
