American singer Lana Del Rey now moves into 5/1 to perform next Bond theme after previous attempt was rejected
Betting remains available on who will perform the next James Bond theme song with Lana Del Rey now moving into 5/1 with UK Betting Sites to be chosen as the next performer for the iconic spot.
The American singer revealed last month that she wrote a James Bond theme back in 2015, titled 24, but had it rejected by producers before adding it to her album Honeymoon.
Del Rey will have gone against British singer Sam Smith who eventually was chosen for the theme to Bond movie Spectre with the track Writing's On The Wall which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
When asked if she still hoped to have a Bond theme in her career Del Rey said, “One day, maybe" and Paddy Power's latest odds suggest a 16.7% chance that she is chosen next.

Bookmakers have kept Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga as the joint favourites in the betting market to perform the next Bond theme with both massive names to do so.
Gaga has previously won the Oscar for Best Original Song with her track Shallow from A Star Is Born winning the award back in 2018.
Fast forward to 2024 and we may well see her announced to perform the next Bond theme song, but it's unlikely that this will be announced until nearer the film's release rather than when it is in production.

Christopher Nolan continues to sit as favourite in the market for the next James Bond director with rumours and reports constantly linking him with the role.
Nolan has flirted with it in the past and reports from from World of Reel last year said that Nolan had agreed to writing and directing the next two films in the franchise.
This is something that Nolan has denied since including letting the Associated Press know that he 'sadly' wouldn't be doing it, but that hasn't stopped the oddsmakers from keeping him as favourite.
