I break betting odds news as it happens, so you’re never left behind when the market moves or a top offer lands.

  • Italy are one of the favourites for Eurovision overall with odds of 3/1 to win this year's show
  • France out to 50/1 on the exchanges and based on those odds we look further at match betting between the two
  • Ukraine have been backed into joint favourites for the Contest this year, with the current going's on across Eastern Europe potentially contributing to this.

Italy vs France - Who has a better Eurovision?

Italy are the current joint favourites to win Eurovision this year on the betting exchanges, with their 3/1 odds the same as Ukraine.

France on the other hand are 20/1 outsiders with bookmakers for the contest this year and they'll have to defy those massive odds and them some to win this year.

France finished runners up to Italy last year despite being awarded more 12 points by the other countries.

7 different jury voters gave France the max points, with 4 countries giving 12 points for the French entry in the tele voting.

Eurovision Match Bet Decimal Odds for Match Bet* Probability
Italy 1.33 75%
France 4.0 25%

*odds are implied from previous voting from countries at Eurovision, alongside voting from previous years for both countries.

Italy are well expected to beat France at this year's show based on the odds, with France themselves outsiders to win outright this year.

The Italians have already chose their entrant for this year's Eurovision with Mahmood & BLANCO's 'Brividi' hoping to win the contest for them for a second year in a row.

France are expected to announce their entrant for the show on the 5th March, but as they're a top 5 country they're automatically in for the Final.

Italy are well expected to beat France at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, with the Italian entrant the joint favourite to win the whole thing alongside Ukraine.

Ukraine joint favourites to win this year's Eurovision Song Contest

Ukraine have gone from 16/1 into 3/1 joint favourites for this year's Eurovision Song Contest in the space of a week.

That's more than likely due to the current conflict in Eastern Europe, with Russia currently invading Ukraine.

This may mean that European countries will round up and openly vote for Ukraine to win this year's contest.

Eurovision 2022 Winner Odds Probability
Italy 3/1 25%
Ukraine
3/1 25%
Poland 7/1 12.5%
Australia 16/1 5.9%
Switzerland 20/1 4.8%
France 20/1 4.8%
United Kingdom 25/1 3.8%

Russia have now been kicked out of this year's Eurovision Song Contest, the latest dismissal from an event for the Country.

Italy remain favourites for this year's show and they're hosting it in Turin.

Italy won last year's contest through rock band MĂĄneskin

The Italian's won last year's Eurovision Song Contest through rockers Måneskin.

Their winning song Zitti E Buoni has had massive commercial success and has made them a recognised name across the world.

The Italian entrant this year, Mahmood & BLANCO's 'Brividi', is a ballad so they're going way different from last year's song.

Italy only had the max 12 points from 5 nations last year in the phone votes, with 4 more coming from the jury voting.

Italy finished 1st in the Total Tele Points vote with a total of 318 points and 4th in the Total Jury Vote Points with 206.

France were 3rd in the Total Tele Points at 251 and 2nd in the Jury Vote with 248, so did beat Italy through the Jury but the Public ultimately decided on the winner.

Italy had 9 different max 12 points last year from the public vote and jury vote and more of the same could happen this year with the Italian representatives joint favourites for the Contest this year alongside Ukraine.
