Many members asked Is Spread Betting profitable?
Like all forms of betting the more you know the more chance you have to profit, during the World Cup you can also take advantage of Sporting Index or Spreadex special offers on the tournament.
Spread Betting On the World Cup Winners
Here is the World Cup outright market from Sporting Index on the World Cup, if you have watched the video guides it should be a bit clearer to you.
You have the option to Buy or Sell each country depending on how far you think they will progress.
Brazil as with the best betting sites are the favourites.

Had you bought favourites Brazil at 43 you can now sell them at 65 which would give you 22 times your stake.
If you had bought Germany at 34 you would have lost 34 times your stake with Hansi Flick's team failing to get out of Group E

- I will add an example of being patriotic and backing England.
32 Markets | Current | Sell | Buy |
---|---|---|---|
England | - | 29 | 32 |
- I think England will do well so I buy them at 32.
- England make it to the Final but lose the match.
- You can see that the result of making it to the Final was 75 therefore I win.
- (75 -32= 43 x £ 5 Stake) = Plus £215
- My mate has the opposite opinion to me and thinks England will struggle so he sells England at 29, however, England as above make it to the Final and the bet is again settled at 75.
- He loses (75- 29 = 46 x £5 Stake) = Minus £230.
- YOU always BUY if you think the outcome will be HIGHER.
- YOU always SELL if you think the outcome will be LOWER.
More people BUY than SELL when it comes to Spread Betting, so always look at the SELL price to see if that offers better value for your money.

Closing Your Spread Bet
You can close your bet on the majority of Spread Betting markets and take your profit if the bet has gone in your favour.
You can also cut your total losses if the market has gone against you.
Using the above example of England having bought them at 32, let us say they beat Iran 10-0 in the opening game and some of the other countries struggle in their opening games
Because England were impressive the spread may increase from Sell 29-Buy 32 to Sell 37-Buy 40.
You bought at 32 and can now sell at 37. (37-32= 5 x £5 Stake) = Plus £25.
Below is the main match markets on the opening England v Iran game, each World Cup game will have these + many more markets on offer.
Spread Betting Markets
Just about every market you can think of is available for individual World Cup matches. If you have a strong opinion on a match take a look at the Spread Betting prices.
You can see that Englan just to win the game can be bought at 20.75 with the market settled at 25 on the winner,
This is way more profitable than the fixed odds or exchanges that have England at around 1/3 to win the game........... but you risk losing more with a Spread Bet than you would with a fixed odds or exchange bet if the results goes against you.
You need to strike a balance of Risk v Reward.
