In total there are 14 candidates for the North Shropshire By-Election, however, for betting purposes, it looks like a two-horse race between the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats.
The election will be held on the 16th December 2021.
2019 General Election Result In The North Shropshire Constituency
The North Shropshire constituency has been staunchly Conservative for as long as anyone can remember.
At the 2019 General Election, the MP increased his percentage vote to 62.7%.
Labour had 22% of the vote and the Liberal Democrats won 10%.

Owen Paterson Fall Out
The resignation of Owen Paterson the MP is likely to negatively affect the number of votes the Conservative Party receives in the North Shropshire By-Election.
However, it is unlikely to be enough to overturn his near 23, 000 majority.
The best betting sites that are offering odds have the Conservatives odds on to hold the seat. Those 4/11 odds represent a percentage winning chance of around 70%.
The original 4/1 is now 2/1 for the Conservative nearest rivals the Liberal Democrats, this gives give Ed Davey's party around a 33% chance.
The Labour Party at odds of 20/1 gives them little chance (according to the bookmakers) of winning the seat.
9th December 2021 Update
The two political parties have flip-flopped in the betting with the Liberal Democrats now favourites to win the By-Election.
This huge turnaround has come about after the debacle over the Number 10 Christmas Party when it seems there is one rule for the Government and another for the rest of us.
Voters are likely to show their anger in North Shropshire on the 16th where the Conservatives could lose a "true blue" constituency.

Some final day support for the Conservatives in North Shropshire sees their odds shorten a touch, the bookmaker odds indicate it is going to be very very close.
