The producer of the series Love Productions could not reach an agreement with the BBC and GBBO moved to Channel 4.
Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc were the original presenters of the Great British Bake Off but neither followed the show when it moved to Channel 4.
The reaction was mixed with some considering the BBC a natural home for this type of "folksy" series.
