Desert Flower has been a warm order in all his races and was hugely impressive when winning in a fast time last time out. He romped in over C&D by over 5 lengths, and despite the ease of the win, it was still among one of the fastest times in that race over the years, despite several other runnings being on better ground. For me, that run should put the horse as an odds-on shot here, so anything odds against looks decent value to me.

She travelled strongly at the front end, quickened up smartly, hitting the line strong and winning with a bit in hand. Worth her placing at the top table, the benefit of that recent run is no doubt a positive factor, and she might go well at a big price.

The market principals might have too much class for this field but time and again we see top quality horses beaten first time up as they run too keen or lack match sharpness. Of those with a prep, Remaat catches the eye having finished strongly over 7f on seasonal reappearance in the Nell Gwyn. Outpaced on debut, she has improved the further she's gone and the step up to 8f should suit, as will the quicker ground having won her maiden here on good to firm. I suspect after the 2000 Guineas we might see a strongly run 1000 and she can pick up some of the pieces with race fitness assured.
