Shrews Horse Racing Tips

Dam was 83 rated at two and went on to be a 108 rated Group 3 winner. Excellent sire has produced some high-quality 2yo's. No surprises if he proves decent, even if he appears 3rd string from the Haggas stable.

Shouldn't be too much of an issue for this horse to take this race. Decent 2nd three weeks ago and should improve on that. Has the fitness edge on his three rivals.

Just one pound above his last win which came at Sandown in July over this trip, on the same Good ground, and in the same class. Down in class from his last two efforts.

Has a fitness edge over 4 of his 5 rivals, having run on the flat a month ago. Decent 8L 3rd at Aintree last November on good ground. Can be involved.

A length second on debut with those behind now rated 85-75-77. The winner also rated 85. Arguably improved on his second run when winning at York on good ground. Highly likely there's more improvement to come being from the Haggas stable and quite possibly this is a 90+ horse, which would be a competitive rating for at least a place here.

Seemed to improve for the tongue strap when winning by 7 lengths over CD LTO. Price reflects his beating before that by the likely odds-on favorite for this Ammes, who won by 13 lengths at Sedgefield. However, that course is a course for specialists and there's no guarantee the form will be repeated here. Price seems too big.

Won in a class higher at Pontefract back in July and back down to the same mark for this. That was on GF but good ground will be fine and if he handles the stiff nature of Pontefract he should handle it here.

Plenty of these may have stamina issues over this 21f, but that may not apply to this one who has a 22f win to his name in Ireland, and on the same good ground. Not so good in two runs since, but one of those was over fences where he's struggled before and the other after a 3-month break.

An open looking race and I think this one will take some beating and should be thereabouts. Good chance with 4 places on offer. Finished 2nd at Sandown back in July, in this class, on the same Good ground over a furlong further. The winner won again next time out. This distance should suit better.

Price looks too big. Decent Neck was 2nd at Newcastle over 12f in September off this mark, and that was in a class higher. That's a stiffer course than here, and this 14f should suit.

Stalls 3 and 6 won in the two times this race has been held here, and that's possibly a nod in the right direction for this horse drawn 5. Has decent firm ground form and is a Grade 3 winner and Grade 2 placed on dirt. Trainer and jockey combination is likely enough. Can get amongst the 4 places on offer.

Tricky race and plenty in with chances. I think there's decent value in this one. His RPR rating of 98 is close to Grade 1 winner Iron Orchard (102), who's a 10/1 shot for this. Has 5 lengths to make up with possible favourite Explora on their running at Santa Anita LTO, but it would be no surprise if some of the principals get stuck in their own battles, leaving it open to one more patiently ridden.

A mile can take some getting as a 2yo, and no surprise the last two winners of this race when raced here at Del Mar have taken the shortest route in stall one, which is where the selection runs from tonight. Most of these seem similar enough on ratings, apart from O'Brien's Precise, who seems well ahead but drawn out wide. The selection seemed to have plenty in the tank when winning over slightly further LTO and should be in the mix if repeating that.

Needs a few things to drop right as he's been beaten 5L and 4L by likely principals Ted Noffey and Brandt in two Grade 1's. But should be a bit more race fit than Brandt going into this and may benefit from different tactics and a jockey change.

Drawn 1 looks an advantage with two winners of this race running from this stall when held here at Del Mar. Looks a tough sort who battled it out to a head second with winner Bottas LTO but seems to have a much better draw for this. That horse is half the price, so it looks like there's some value in this horse.

Finished a length 3rd in Juvenile Turf Sprint last year when drawn in stall 9, just running out of steam late on. This 5f should suit better and he has a better draw in 6 with a previous winning jockey riding. Can get amongst the 4 places on offer.

The jockey won this in 2021, and this horse gets an excellent draw in 8, with the last three winners of this race at this course being drawn 8-5-8. The horse was a 5L 6th in the race last year from Stall 4, but a more likely winning jockey rides here. Good chance with 4 places on offer.

Worth a go that yet another Willie Mullins training masterpiece gets this one home. Has about 10 lb to make up on principals Minnie Hauk and Rebel's Romance, and so far his form shows he's a very good handicapper rather than a genuine Grade 1 Flat horse. However, it's highly likely he hasn't reached his improvement ceiling yet, and those two principals have had tougher seasons. No surprises if this one just outstays them all.

Unlucky LTO when unseating near the start. But went into the race 2nd favourite behind last year's winner of this race, Sierra Leone, who was also hampered and went on to finish 2nd, making up 18l. Not much between them here, and I think 13/2 offers reasonable value with trainer and jockey both past winners of this race.

Decent 3/4l 2nd LTO in a Grade 1 over this trip at Keeneland on firm ground. Meets the winner of that again here and has a better draw, so no surprises if he can be involved at a double-figure price.
