  I have great respect for Bullet Point, but I'm thinking first time out off top weight is a massive ask. His stablemate Fifth Column has had a run and put in a really nice prep for this, finishing midfield from well off the pace and on the outside last time. With a clear run, he should go close.

  Sea Force looks interesting in the Thirsk Hunt Cup. His trainer, William Haggis, has hit top form and is superb at targeting these handicaps. He is superbly bred and ran a nice prep race 20 days ago.

  Montregard was very strongly fancied for the Bet365 Cup at Sandown last Saturday but was taken out late on due to the quickening ground. This race would be great compensation. Tom Lacey has done well before when sending runners to Punchestown.

  This looks like it could be a decent bumper, looking at the breeding of some of these horses. Kilbeg Jimmy is very nicely bred and is a big price, so I will take a chance with him. He is by one of the top sires, Malinas, and out of an Old Vic related to numerous winners.
