First Impression of Pub Casino Sports

By Luke Bradshaw Lee - This review will reflect the service offered at the time of writing. I signed up on the desktop version of Pub Casino Sports, but also used the mobile version to compare, and downloaded their app. 

Pub Casino is, unsurprisingly, a casino-first product. When you arrive at the site it does take a bit of navigating to get to the sportsbook which isn’t ideal. In terms of style, there is nothing revolutionary, with a simple black background, but if you’ve used other L&L bookies (Yeti, Fun etc.) you’ll feel right at home.

Bet Mentor and Insights 

Pub Casino Sports has recently added two nice new features to their betting markets that can be used across different sports. Insights provides different specific markets based on a particular stat or recent form or data, with the corresponding market below eg For a Premier league game involving Liverpool it has “Both teams have scored in 11 of the last 12 Liverpool home games” with the BTTS market below.

The Bet Mentor tool allows you to say how much you’d like to stake, and how much you’d like to win, and then provides the markets that would allow you to do that. These can automatically be added to your betslip with one click.

Pub Casino Sports Live Betting

This is extremely easy to find, as the red “LIVE” icon is immediately clear against the background. Not only can you head straight to the live betting part of the site, but all sports that currently have live markets feature the same red icon in the menu bar. I can immediately see that there’s plenty of live markets, and there can’t be many other bookies offering in-play odds on beach volleyball and E-ice hockey markets like Pub Casino Sports does. Pub Casino Sports Live Streaming

Pub Casino Sports has some decent live streaming options. The “LIVE” menu, or even a single live event, has a small toggle on the right-hand side, where you can flick between live streaming (if available) or graphics. Not all live events have the streaming option, but a good few do. There are no requirements to watch other than being a registered user and being logged in. You don’t have to bet on the event in question and you don’t have to have money in your account. 

Pub Casino Sports Betting Odds

After looking through some alternative sportsbooks, as well as going through some comparison sites, it seems as though the odds offered at Pub Casino Sports are generally decent. Some seem to be around what you’d expect but you can definitely find some extra value, especially on some longer shots, in particular markets. For example, one Serie A game that has a heavy underdog listed at around 17 or 18, is at 22 on Pub Casino Sports.

Pub Casino Sports Betting App or Mobile Site 

Like the desktop, there is one app for the casino and sportsbook, and you have to get to the sportsbook from the casino to begin with. I find the app a bit cluttered but it does work quite fluidly, and moving between markets is easy enough. It may just take a little getting used to, however, because the more I use it, the more I like it.

Pub Casino Sports Football Betting

Pub Casino Sports comes quite close to making our best football betting sites in the UK. The menu panel is telling me that there’s over a thousand different games that I can bet on at this moment in time, and that’s as good as anyone in the industry. There’s a great option to bet on whether there will be a card, corner or goal in the next five minutes of a match and another nice touch is their Insights feature. This is a particular stat based on recent form or data, with a corresponding market below eg “Both teams have scored in 11 of the last 12 Liverpool home games” and the BTTS market below.

Bet Builder 

There’s a bet builder option at Pub Casino Sports, and it’s okay, but could definitely be improved with some tweaks. I’d say it’s pretty standard, and if there were some more markets to add into builders they’d be more appealing. Generally market depth is a strength of Pub Casino Sports’, so this surprises me, perhaps these will increase the closer we get to kick-off.

Bonuses

This is the most limited part of Pub Casino Sports’ product. There is no real welcome offer that isn’t casino-focused, but there are a really good amount of price boosts for a variety of markets, particularly football ones. Their Acca Boost (just for football) boosts accas from four legs, to 12 legs, by a bigger amount the more that you add, so 5% for four selections, up to 50% for 12 selections.

Cash Out

Cashout is a very important betting feature for punters these days so it's crucial that bookies integrate this feature into their mobile betting apps. Pub Casino Sports has done this well, allowing their customers to instantly cash out their bets on any device they like.

American Football Betting

Thankfully Pub Casino Sports shows the spread immediately when you land on the markets. It’s something that annoys me quite a lot when it comes to American football – that being that when you see the event (a specific game), and it only lists the winner market. You can see all the other markets once you click through and there is an absolute tonne here, including next season’s outrights and NFL Draft markets, which is great to have. Basketball Betting

Covering the NBA, WNBA, college basketball, Euro League, FIBA Champions League, as well as a few more, Pub Casino Sports has an exceptional basketball offering, with well over 200 different markets to choose from, making it a great place to come to for basketball betting. In fact, like a lot of L&L sportsbooks, the number of international leagues covered is impressive and includes the likes of Australia, the UK, Brazil and Turkey. Baseball Betting

The MLB, understandably, is a large part of Pub Casino Sports’s baseball betting, but they also have markets for the Japanese, Taiwan and South Korean leagues. The markets, and the odds, especially on the outrights, appear to be really good. The MLB season is well underway at the moment, and there is an impressive amount of markets here, such as individual awards and other futures, on top of the individual match markets such as pitcher lines, batter hits and over/unders on triples. Keep tabs on the top baseball betting sites though, to see if they make it onto our list.

Ice Hockey Betting

The NHL takes up the majority of real estate here, as one would expect. But there are also some Austrian, Swedish and Australian fixtures included, among others. I selected an upcoming NHL game and there is a really impressive number of markets available – more than pretty most other sportsbooks I’d wager. For the lesser leagues that reduces a bit more, which makes sense. Overall, I think this is impressive from Pub Casino Sports.

Pub Casino Sports Darts Betting

I went through some of the upcoming Premier League match ups, as well as some smaller events such as the Modus series, and there are plenty of markets for each game. What’s great to see, also, is some boosted odds sprinkled about, but for the smaller games the number of markets is very limited.

Firstly, it’s worth knowing that rugby league and rugby union are split and so are housed in different places, which is absolutely fine to do and not an issue. What is an issue, however, is that within match events there is a pretty limited selection of markets to bet on – just results, handicap and a scoring markets, with nothing in the way of player markets such as try scorer or points scorer. If there was more I’d absolutely see them making OLBG’s best Rugby betting sites.

By James Banting - If there were anything in the way of specific cricket promotions, or if the odds were a little better, I could see Pub Casino Sports being one of our Top 10 cricket betting sites. Overall, it’s pretty nice because Pub Casino Sports offers a brilliant selection of competitions, and that goes for tournaments across the world, as well as more niche leagues in said countries. I do love how many markets are available here for each game assuming it’s a big fixture – it reduces a lot for minor games – but the value here is just okay.

You can stream live tennis matches, the bet builder option is great, the supporting statistics are on point and there’s brilliant coverage across a whole host of events. They may not have quite the same number of markets as the very best when it comes to sheer quantity, but this is a brilliant option for tennis bettors. Pub Casino Sports Golf Betting

There are a few smaller tournaments happening right now, or due to start soon, such as the Phoenix Open, Astara Championship or Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, and  these are listed in some capacity. I’d like to see a good bit more for me to consider using them consistently. 

Pub Casino Sports Motorsports Betting

Obviously there is the winner, but also how many times the safety car will be out, head to heads on driver finishes, and absolutely tons of yes/no question based markets to choose between. Those this weekend and over the next few weeks have an okay offering, whereas the further away they get the less markets on offer. That’s fair enough, and I wouldn’t expect to find round by round and the like for fights that are months away, but I would definitely like more options for big fights happening this week, and that’s definitely limited based on my experience with Pub Casino Sports.

Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is still a large enough market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG; let’s dig in a bit further.

Handball Betting

Betting on handball at Pub Casino Sports looks very impressive. There’s actually over 90 games to bet on at the time of review, and that’s way more than most bookies. There aren’t loads of markets per game, but the odds are great and there are competitions in Bahrain, Portugal, Romania, Greece and more listed. Handball is increasingly popular and Pub Casino Sports looks to be struggling in terms of providing a platform for punters to bet on various handball events and tournaments worldwide. 

Cycling Betting

Pub Casino Sports offers betting on cycling for sports bettors who like to dabble in cycling betting, and comparing it with others out there it’s what we’d expect. There isn’t a load of markets, but that’s true of anywhere to be honest. What you can get is odds on next year’s Tour de France winner, plus the Classics like the Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix and Milan-San Remo.

Aussie Rules Football Betting

As far as Pub Casino Sports is concerned, their event coverage is pretty standard – they have most parts covered. The games, competitions and odds are good, but the actual list of markets isn’t huge per game. It’s not as great as some others out there, but overall they are still a solid option.

Political Betting

There are some US Presidential markets, but not loads, and odds on the next Mayor of London. In terms of UK General Election markets, there are next Prime Minister odds, majority odds and next party leader markets, too.

Entertainment and Specials Betting

By Jake Ashton - This is pretty poor from Pub Casino Sports, with just a market for BBC Sports Personality of the Year. I’d expect a bit more of a light-hearted approach to Specials betting, with markets in music, film, awards ceremonies and even some super-specific seasonal stuff. 

Esports Betting

The esports betting at Pub Casino Sports is very good. There is an “Esports” tab in the menu  and this will take you to markets (inclungi in-play) for a huge range of games including, but not limited to, Dota 2, Counter-Strike, Call of Duty, League of Legends and Overwatch. On top of this, in the menu you’ll find e-versions of sports – football, basketball and hockey – that include games like GT Sports League, E-battles and E-Rivals. 

Virtual Sports

Pub Casino Sports offers no virtual sports betting at the time of this review.

Casino

Pub Casino Sports does have casino. It’s incredibly easy to find their casino offering from their sportsbook, with banners across the top and, as mentioned, it’s where you’re directed to from the off. Pub Casino Sports Account Opening Process

A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen Pub Casino Sports has their “Register” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

Overall I prefer the desktop version to the app, but both are decent, if not market-leading. There’s the issue of having to get to the sportsbook via the casino that is mentioned above, but once you’re there everything seems in order. One thing I think would make it much better is the ability to click on a sport and see all markets at once. If you select “Football” for example, you get the drop down of all the different leagues to then select, but what I want is to be able to see all at once and then decide. 

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to Pub Casino Sports I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which worked well. 

Managing your account

As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the  left of the screen. On the app, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like Pub Casino Sports has got this part nailed.

Pub Casino Sports Review Summary 

There are a few real strengths to the Pub Casino output. The main two factors are the coverage of smaller events and sports. That includes things like futsal, ski jumping and pesapallo, which you’re obviously not going to find at many sportsbooks, so if that’s your thing, then fantastic. 

Secondly, the number of markets, for most sports, is really impressive (although there are a couple of exceptions). 

There are a couple of sports that Pub Casino does exceptionally: tennis and esports. But, and it’s a big but, not having anything in the way of greyhounds or horse racing is a huge blot in the copy book, especially if your branding is around such an iconic British pastime, it seems a bit odd to not tie in with other British favourites.

There could be a few more promotions, but actually this has been upped recently, with plenty of odds boosts, acca boosts and the like. For sheer coverage, it’s definitely a bookie that’s worth checking out.
