Full GrosvenorSport Bookmaker Review

Grosvenor Sport has been around for a while and it shows, in a good way. It’s essentially a solid, above average bookie for pretty much every aspect going. There are other bookies that do certain things better, but there aren’t many that are as consistent across the board as Grosvenor, and that goes from a product and user experience point of view, as much as just odds and markets.

We collect thousands of data points across nearly 100 different bookies to determine who does what well, and Grosvenor Sport ranks in our Top 10 bookies for motorsport, rugby and Aussie Rules betting, but it’s nearly always among the top 20 or so, regardless of the sport or product feature. It’s a genuinely excellent bookie that has been improved upon consistently over time.

First Impression of Grosvenor Sport

My First Impressions

This review will reflect the service offered at the time of writing. I signed up on the desktop version of Grosvenor Sport, but also used the mobile version to compare, as well as downloading their app. Grosvenor Sport feels reassuringly comprehensive, despite it being a casino first. There’s plenty of casino options in the main menu, but once you’re on the sportsbook homepage there is clearly lots of sports offered, lots of promotions, and a rather slick interface. Parts of the product design are the same as Casumo, so if you’ve used that, you'll’ feel at home.

Live Betting

Head to the “LIVE” option on the main menu and you'll arrive at Grosvenor Sport’s live betting. This is pretty good, but not much more than that to be honest. There’s a few sports with in-play options – tennis, badminton, table tennis, esports and volleyball – but looking at other bookies at the same time there are plenty of other sports with in-play markets, such as rugby and baseball. For the events themselves, there’s a decent amount of markets, plus some stats for selected sports. In addition, there are more detailed stats through an external link that are very good.

Live Streaming

Grosvenor Sport offers live UK and Irish racing to stream for free, as well as greyhound racing. You must have a positive account balance, or have placed a bet in the previous 24 hours.

Betting Odds

Grosvenor Sport’s odds look decent enough and, comparing them to others out there, near the top in terms of value, if not the absolute best. That drops a little bit for in-play odds, but for pre-match stuff and outrights I’ve got absolutely no complaints in terms of value. You could shop around and find slightly better elsewhere, but as an overall package this isn’t bad at all.

Also, remember that it is always worth checking alternative betting options, including best spread betting sites and betting exchange sites, depending on who you are as a bettor.

Betting App or Mobile Site 

I really like the Grosvenor Sport app. The navigation is excellent, and the different menu bars make it incredibly easy to move from one section to the next without getting muddled along the way. If you do get a little lost, there is always the search tool to help you out. I tried out a few different bet builders on the app, and they populate your betslip efficiently, keeping it minimised until you choose to see it. It’s also very easy to remove and edit bets as you go along.

⚽ Football Betting

The package as a whole is excellent, especially when it comes to the number of events and competitions covered. There are some promotions, which we’ll get onto below, but the odds are just par for the course really, and could do with being just a little longer, and those two factors combined mean that it doesn’t quite make our absolute best. Bet Builder 

There’s a very good bet builder feature at Grosvenor Sport. A lot of events have pre-made bet builder options that you can select from if that’s your thing, but a crucial difference here is that you can add or edit the picks within these pre-made options. Most sports have bet builder as an option, and obviously football leads that. There are plenty of markets within the builder and the menu drop downs work very well indeed.

Bonuses

There’s a decent selection of bonuses here, on top of the welcome offer for new sign ups. In terms of football promotions there are quite a few odds boosts, and these are upped for major tournaments, or big matches, so following the football calendar. There’s a free to play game of Hi-Lo, which can be played daily for different prizes, and you can earn free bets when you stake on outright winners ahead of major tournaments. 

Cash Out

Cashout is a very important betting feature for punters these days so it's crucial that bookies integrate this feature into their mobile betting apps. At Grosvenor Sport you can get partial cash out, which is great, but you can’t cash out on bet builders or edit your bet, which does let it down a bit.

🏇 Horse Racing

Grosvenor Sport’s racing offering is very good, with live streaming on all UK and Irish meets. You can also get cash back if your selection finishes second to the starting price favourite.

Grosvenor Sport also does Best Odds Guaranteed and it’s pretty good overalll. You can get BOG on the day of the race anytime after 9:00AM, use on all UK and Irish meets, use in multiples and there is a cap, but it's a huge £25,000. 

🇺🇸 US Sports Betting

A full range of American Sports is available. We’ll check out the major leagues, but also look into the sports further down the pyramid and, as well as across the globe. 

🏈 American Football Betting

This is not bad at all. We’re a bit off the start of the NFL season, but it’s great to see game lines up already. The number of markets is tiny, but that’s to be expected given we have no idea of the players involved and form/injury status they will have. But there are markets here for college games, as well as the CFL and UFL, also. For other options the best NFL betting sites. 

🏀 Basketball Betting

It appears that Grosvenor Sports does just the NBA, but does it well. There is nothing that I can find in the way of leagues around the world, college games, or the WNBA, so if you want to bet on games in the UK or Australia, for example, that’s not an option here. That said, if you just want to bet on the NBA, the NBA betting is very good. There’s plenty of markets, outrights on winners and MVP voting, plus stats and pre-made bet builders that you can modify. ⚾ Baseball Betting

The MLB, understandably, is a large part of Grosvenor Sport’s baseball betting, but they also have markets for the Taiwanese league and college games, too. In terms of markets per game, it’s very good. There’s a really good number and decent variety, with player props, including batter and pitcher options. That goes for outrights, too – there’s loads here, with division champions, Rookie of the Year, Cy Young and so on. 🏒 Ice Hockey Betting

Of all the big US sports that Grosvenor Sport offers as part of its betting package, ice hockey is probably its most comprehensive. There’s not as many leagues or competitions outside North America included – others have leagues from Finland, Sweden, the UK etc. – but the actual number of betting options for their NHL games is very good. It does make me wonder why they don’t do the same for baseball, basketball and so on, however. 

🐕 Greyhound Betting

Grosvenor Sport has great greyhound betting. You can live stream races through the site or the app, as long as you have a positive account balance or have placed a bet in the last 24 hours. There’s Irish races, as well as the UK ones, with great odds throughout. The only downside is that their Best Odds Guaranteed doesn’t apply to greyhounds, it’s just horse racing.

The darts at Grosvenor Sport is very good. In fact, there can’t be many bookies that offer this many markets, across this many events. Often you get a few upcoming events just about covered, or outrights on the next World Championships, but nothing more immediate. Here we have both. Even Modus Series matches have things like King of the Oche and Highest Checkout markets. It’s great seeing proper attention paid across the board.

In comparison to the best snooker betting sites, this matches up very nicely. There is a really good number of markets per match for some small upcoming events, but there aren’t any futures on the UK Championships or Masters, although there is for the World Championships. Selecting a few Championship League games and the number of markets are more than you’ll get at most other bookies. You can split the markets by match, or by frame, and then make your selections accordingly.

🏉 Rugby Betting (Union & League)

There’s a proper selection of rugby league fixtures, with Super League, NRL, State of Origin and women’s fixtures, too. And that’s repeated for Union, with domestic leagues across Europe in addition to international games and tournaments. This is above average because Grosvenor Sport has a decent selection of competitions, and that goes for tournaments across the world, as well as more minor competitions or leagues in said countries – not many bookies go down to County Division 2. The number of markets differs depending on the fixture in question, but that’s fair enough. I would expect Essex vs Glamorgan to have the same attention as The Ashes.

🎾 Tennis Betting

By James Banting - There’s a lot to bet on here. As well as future markets on the Grand Slams, there are a ton of tournaments beyond that right down to Challenger level. There’s a decent level of pre-match stats, even for the more minor matches. By the looks of other parts of this review, I feel like tennis (after football) is probably the best covered sport, certainly when you factor in odds, markets and competitions altogether. By James Banting - Grosvenor Sport’s golf offering is excellent. All the events that you’d want are here, with futures on the majors. One nice little promotion that I noticed is cash back up to £50 if your selection misses the cut – quite an inventive bit of betting insurance. For a major as big as the US Open, the number of markets on offer is okay overall with some winning margin markets, on top of round leaders and Top 20 finishes. There is actually quite a lot to like here, and certainly so when it comes to different types of motorsport on offer. Formula 1 has its own home in the menu, while the Motorsport section includes NASCAR, IndyCar, MotoGP, Speedway and Supercars. That’s as good as anywhere else that you’ll find. The F1 section includes outrights, plus player and team specials for the season, while each Grand Prix has its own individual markets. It’s pretty impressive overall and somewhere I’ll definitely come back to. Also, their search function is one of the best in the industry, meaning that you can arrow in on “Lewis Hamilton”, “speedway” or “Ducati” and find related markets immediately. It’s one of the best around.

Grosvenor Sport does something that I’m not sure I’ve seen anywhere else, and that’s offer odds on unconfirmed fights, which is fantastic. You’ll get your money back if the fight never materialises, but for fights that have been pencilled in, even if there is a locked in date, you’ll get odds. For example, you can get odds on Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury, even though it’s a fight that’s not confirmed.

Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is a massive market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG.

Grosvenor Sport offers extensive betting options for Handball, volleyball, cycling, AFL betting, and esports. Handball includes global competitions; volleyball,covers European Championships and various tournaments; cycling features future tours and current races; AFL betting has comprehensive stats and esports offers all major games like League of Legends and CS:GO.

Grosvenor Sports houses its political betting under its own section and it’s not bad. There are some US Presidential markets, but not loads, and odds on the next Mayor of London. In terms of UK General Election markets, there are next Prime Minister odds, majority odds and next party leader markets, too. On top of that, and what makes it stand out compared to plenty of other bookies, is markets in any other countries, in this case, Sweden and Australia.

This is pretty bad from Grosvenor Sports, with just a market for BBC Sports Personality of the Year. I’d expect a bit more of a light-hearted approach to Specials betting, with markets in music, film, awards ceremonies and even some super-specific seasonal stuff.

Grosvenor Sport does have casino. It’s incredibly easy to find their casino offering from their sportsbook, with banners across the top and, as mentioned, it’s where you’re directed to from the off. Account Opening Process

A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen Grosvenor Sport has their “Join” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

I think the actual product and user experience is actually the big selling point of Grosvenor. Most sports are pretty good, but that’s before you even get to a product point of view. The app is actually excellent and incredibly easy to use, and it feels obvious that the sportsbook launched long after apps became a thing, if that makes sense. A lot of thought has gone into its design, and all of it makes total sense. The desktop version is still very easy to use, but the app is a step above.

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to Grosvenor Sport I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which worked well. 

Managing your account

As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the  left of the screen. On the app, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like Grosvenor Sport has got this part nailed.

Responsible Gambling Features

You can set your deposit limit while you’re signing up; long before you’ve got close to actually making a bet. 

There is also a Settings tab at the bottom of the page, no matter what page you’re on, that allows you to make changes to limits, as well as odds formats, or odds change preferences/notifications.
