This is where one sportsbook can stand out against the competition. Offering the greatest range of wager options in a single game can really make a difference.

Whilst some can offer literally hundreds of options for the biggest match ups, you'll find even more for the play off finals. The range of markets will fluctuate with the magnitude of the event, but day to day soccer betting fans will want a good range season round.

The table below offers recommendations on the sportsbooks that offer the most wagers for single game in the major leagues

Which Online Sportsbook is Best for In-Game Wagers?

Soccer is by far the most popular sport in the world for Live betting. Medium paced, and visual clues to how games are going, the bettor has plenty fo time to watch consider and place their bets in-game.

Also betting live in-game on soccer allows you to top up on bets you have made pre-game that are looking good, or maybe minimize losses if a wager is going against you by making further wagers in-game.

Use Caution with Live Betting In Game

Be sure you know the delay in the live stream you are watching while wagering on the game to ensure you are not betting for something that has already gone against you,

Most sportsbooks offer in-game betting on soccer. Our team has watched and wagered in a range of games [It was hell, I promise!!], to find you the best online sportsbook for in-play Soccer betting.

Which Sportsbook for Soccer Futures?

Soccer sharps will be making a wager on futures markets months and even sometimes years in advance, with opportunities like the World Cup available for betting 4 years in advance of the event.

With international matches lined up months in advance, and leagues and player futures options for just about every country, the choice of soccer futures betting markets is almost endless.

Huge Value Can be Found in Futures

Soccer betting sharps use futures markets to complement their week to week betting strategy. The earlier you can bet on an event, the higher odds and better value can be found.

Futures wagering can be make or break for some, with much higher odds available months in advance of seasonal outcomes. The further you can predict a result ahead of time, the higher the betting odds are likely to be.

A great online Soccer sportsbook will offer the greatest range, and be the most innovative in their Soccer futures wagering markets.

Which Sportsbook offers the Most Events to Wager on?

Every sportsbook we have checked has offered betting on MLS as you would expect. Equally, looking for top quality European soccer is not going to be a problem, with the English Premier League, the German Bundesliga, Spain's La Liga, and Italy's Serie A, all available. French Ligue 1 is commonly available to bet too.

International matches, when scheduled, can be found, with Euro2020 the biggest tournament in qualifying stages at this time.

Which Sportsbook Offer the Most Betting Markets

The number of different markets available for betting on soccer is huge, more than you will ever need I am sure. Look for which sportsbook offers the most, and which markets you should be looking at first.

I checked each sportsbook on Friday 27th September 2019 to see on average how many markets were being offered across 5 random soccer matches taking place that weekend.

What are the most common bets on soccer

As you can see above, the choice of the type of soccer bets available is enormous. So how do you choose which to bet on, and which is the most common wager on soccer

Betting Lines

Betting lines consist of 3 way Moneyline, Total goals Over and Under and Both Teams to Score options.

Handicap spreads are available, but given the low scoring nature of soccer, these can be very difficult to predict to all but the masters.

Prop Betting

In the search for better odds, you can find a whole host of proposition bets. Who will score the first goal, the last goal, or who will score at any time in the match? You can predict which players will receive yellow or red cards. If there will be a penalty awarded in a match, or if one will be scored. You can predict how many goals one side will score, and even how many corners will be awarded.

As you can see above, with over 100 different markets to choose from, the vast majority of wagers available are props.

Live Betting on Soccer

Hugely popular is soccer betting 'In-Play.' Watching the match and betting at the same time can offer great opportunities of following which side may be getting on top and look most likely to score and you can predict, while the game continues, who will score the next goal or the final result.

Live Betting Soccer

Being able to make a bet at Half Time or at any point in the match is great if you are watching the game too.

You can predict the next goalscorer, how many corners there will be before the end of the period and tons more.

Most sites also offer in-game statistics, so you can see which side has had most possessions, made most passes, won corners, and had shots on target.

Soccer Parlay Betting

A great way to increase the odds and potential profits. Adding several teams from the 3-way Moneyline and combining the odds can soon create bets with potentially huge returns if correct. It is not easy, though. A single goal decides most matches, and the more teams you add to the parlay, the more chances it can go wrong.

People will often add up to 10 teams to a parlay, creating incredible odds, but I would suggest adding no more than three teams at any one time. Three picks at +150 odds mount up to an excellent return, and it is far easier to predict three correct results than ten!

Soccer Betting Frequently Asked Questions

Below are the most commonly asked questions about soccer betting. If you have any others not covered below, please get in touch and we will provide an answer and add it to the list.

  • Can I bet on soccer in the USA?

You certainly can. By using a legally licensed sportsbook in your state, betting on soccer online is possible. You can check our sportsbooks page to check which sportsbooks and states allow legal online betting.

  • Can I bet in play on soccer?

Most sportsbooks offer the opportunity to make wagers on a game even once it has started. A very exciting element to soccer betting, you can follow the ebb and flow of the game and make your predictions once you see how the teams are set up and who has the run of play.

  • What is a three-way bet in soccer?

A three-way bet in soccer is predicting the three possible outcomes. A win for the home team, a victory for the away team of you can bet on the draw. The final result is the most popular type of soccer betting activity, and combining multiple picks for a parlay will increase the odds for bigger wins if all correct. Three-way betting is only available for 90 minutes. If a game goes to overtime/extra-time, following a draw in 90 minutes, the accurate prediction would have been the draw option.

  • What soccer markets can I bet on?

There are hundreds of different markets in soccer betting. The most popular bets have explanations above in this article. Some sportsbook can offer more than 100 proposition bets in addition to the 'normal' betting lines. Some of these prop bets are also the most popular.

  • What is soccer spread betting?

A very exciting way to bet on soccer is using spread betting, from a spread betting sportsbook. Spread betting is somewhat different from standard wagering, and some research should be undertaken as to how it works before getting involved. The sportsbook will provide a spread of the result, and you can predict how right or how wrong they will be.

Up to this point, it is very similar to betting on handicap lines. The difference with spread betting is, the more right you are, the more you can win.

However, it has a converse element that the more incorrect you are, the more you will lose. So betting on the time of the first goal, for instance, can be both very lucrative, or very expensive. It does, however, provide some great opportunities to win big.

  • How does moneyline work in soccer?

Moneyline betting on soccer is the same moneyline betting on football or basketball. You are predicting the outright winner of the match, which will be either a win for either side of a drawn match.

  • What are the most popular leagues to bet on?

Worldwide the most popular league for soccer betting is the English Premier League. Considered to be the most competitive and high-class soccer league in the world, it is very popular for betting because there are fewer mismatches and more moneyline betting opportunities.

Following the 'EPL,' La Liga in Spain or the Bundesliga in Germany are both very popular. Our own MLS does have huge support from soccer betting fans in Europe. So why not start at home with teams you potentially can know more 1about.

  • What is a double chance in soccer betting?

Double chance is similar to moneyline in that you are predicting the final result after 90 minutes; however, instead of predicting just one option, you get the chance to pick two possible outcomes.

Hence the 'Double chance' - An example option might be 'Draw or Away,' this means if the away team win or the match ends in a draw, you win you bet.

Because the Home Win is not covered, if that were the outcome, your wager would be lost. Any combination of two outcomes from the possible three combined is a double chance bet.

  • How does draw no bet work in soccer betting?

Draw no bet is predicting the winner of a soccer match over 90 minutes with the draw removed from the prediction model.

Example: You can bet the home team win, draw no bet. If the game ended in a draw, the bet is a 'push' and is treated as a no-actioned bet.

Your wager stake is returned as if the bet had not taken place. You will find that smaller odds are available for each team in this betting market.

  • What is Asian Handicap betting in soccer?

Asian handicap soccer betting is like handicap lines betting but with some added elements that can take a little while to understand.

Take a look at our dedicated guide to Asian handicap betting, which sportsbook offers the option and how it works for more details.

  • What is over/under betting?

Over Under soccer betting is the same as totals betting in football or basketball. With fewer goals being scored than points in the other sports, the most common totals line for over under betting in soccer is over or under 2.50 goals. There can be options for 1.5 or 3.5 goals too.

With under/over 2.50 goals, you will be betting that there will either be, UNDER [no more than two goals], or OVER [3 goals or more] This is a hugely popular bet in Europe, especially combining several picks in an under/over parlay

  • What is HT/FT betting?

HT/FT stands for Half Time/Full-Time betting.

With this bet, you have to predict the result after 45 minutes, and the result after 90 minutes. The bet is most commonly chosen in soccer betting by using the terms Home, Away, and Draw.

If you were predicting the Home side would be leading at half time and still leading at full time, then the bet you would make would be Home/Home.

Or perhaps you think it would be a draw after 45 minutes and the home team would seal the victory in the second half, in which case your predictions would be DRAW/HOME

  • What does BTTS stand for?

More popular in European soccer betting now than totals, under/Over betting BTTS stands for both teams to score and is a prediction of the success of each team in scoring goals.

You can bet either 'Yes' or 'No.' It is as obvious as it sounds, in that, if you bet both teams to score, your wager will be deemed a win, if both sides manage to score at least one goal each

  • Can I bet on a player to score first?

Yes. A proposition bet on which player will score first is a prediction and bet you can make in soccer betting.

There are other options, arguably safer at lower odds you can make, like a player to score at any time within the game. First or otherwise.
