Scottish League One Format
Scottish League One is the third tier of the SPFL and was reformed in 2013, it consists of 10 teams who play each other home and away twice during a 36-match regular season commencing in August and culminating in May with the champions gaining automatic promotion to the Scottish Championship and two-legged promotion playoffs start with the 2nd placed team playing the 3rd placed team and the 4th placed team playing the 9th (second bottom) placed team in the Scottish Championship. The winners of those matches will then play a two-legged final for a place in the Scottish Championship in the forthcoming season.
The bottom club (10th place) is relegated and the 9th placed team will initially face the 4th placed team in Scottish League Two, if successful they will then face the winner of the 2nd and 3rd placed Scottish League Two playoff for a place in the Scottish League One.
With less chance of the ‘bigger’ SPL clubs dropping down the divisions through relegation the Scottish League One Outright Winner and Relegation ante-post betting markets can be quite competitive and betting picks and predictions are placed on these and the individual match markets throughout the season.
As the Scottish League One teams play each other four times during the season there is plenty of head-to-head trends the OLBG experts will highlight in their forecasts and predictions, like Total Goals (over/under 2.5), Both Teams to Score (BTTS), etc...
