Nigel Farage is the favourite with betting sites to be the next Prime Minister
We have a new leader in the betting market to be the next Prime Minister after Keir Starmer with Nigel Farage now the 2/1 favourite to get the role next.
In recent polling figures conducted by YouGov, Farage had the biggest votes for the question around who would make the best Prime Minister with his 20% figure putting him above Starmer at 19%.
Farage has overwhelming support from Reform voters with 81% of them backing him to be Prime Minister with 24% of Conservative voters in the poll also backing Farage as PM.
This has seen a massive change in the betting market now with William Hill moving Farage into 2/1 favourite to take over as Prime Minister when Starmer leaves the role.
Those odds give an implied probability of 33.3% that we see Nigel Farage as the Prime Minister when the next election takes place.

What the expert says...
Reform have moved into 15/8 to have the most seats at the next General Election
Reform's rise in popularity at the last General Election has shown no signs of wavering since then with more and more backing in the months since Labour won the election.
The popularity of Reform in those polling figures that we referenced earlier shows that we could see them become a real contender at the next General Election.
This has now caused bookmakers to slash odds on the party winning the most seats at the next General Election with their 15/8 price putting them just behind the Conservatives and Labour.
Next General Election - Most Seats | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Conservatives | 6/4 | 40.0% |
Labour | 13/8 | 38.1% |
Reform UK | 15/8 | 34.8% |
Keir Starmer now odds-on to not be Prime Minister at next General Election
2025 seems to be a massive make or break year for Sir Keir Starmer as Prime Minister with plenty of question marks surrounding his first 6 months in the role.
Starmer's regime got off to a terrible start with the Government cutting winter fuel payments which caused massive backlash when it was announced.
This has followed with other questionable decisions early in his reign as PM and that now sees him move into odds-on at 7/10 to not be Prime Minister when the next General Election takes place.
