Wes Streeting now favourite to be the next Labour Leader

Betting odds continue to be offered on who will be the next Labour Leader with question marks continuing to surround Sir Keir Starmer after his opening 5 months as Prime Minister.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves had shortened into favourite with bookmakers to lead the Labour party next but has since come out to second favourite in the market.

Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Wes Streeting is now the new favourite to lead the Labour party next with the betting odds switching him and Reeves around.

Streeting tops the market with Paddy Power to take over from Starmer next but there's no hint about the Prime Minister leaving this role any time soon.

Starmer spoke about how the Budget was put in to "stabilise the economy" adding, “We’ve had a decade – slightly more – of stagnant growth or low growth and we’ve got to turn that around.”

Latest breaking news has revealed that the PM is set to name Lord Peter Mandelson as the UK's next ambassador to the US.
