Betting odds are now being offered for this year's Mercury Prize with UK betting sites making Charli XCX the early favourite to win the award for the first time in her career.
'Brat' is the second Charli XCX album that has been nominated for the Mercury Prize following 2020's 'How I'm Feeling Now' which was shortlisted for the award.
2020 saw Michael Kiwanuka made winner of the Mercury Prize but Charli is looking to do one better this year by winning the Prize with the latest odds putting her at 2/1 to win.
William Hill's odds give an implied probability of 33.3% that 'Brat' wins the Mercury Prize with The Last Dinner Party following closely behind in the betting market.

The Last Dinner Party have had a whirlwind 12 months with the release of their debut album 'Prelude to Ecstasy' with the Abigail Morris-fronted band going from strength-to-strength with every performance.
Their massive slot at this year's Glastonbury Festival saw them perform on the Other Stage to tens of thousands of fans and their album translates seamlessly to their live performances.

Following the Mercury Prize losing a big sponsorship deal with Freenow, there will now be no public ceremony for the first time in the history of the prize (other than the COVID year).
The BBC will still broadcast the award being given though with an expected studio show to be recorded by the broadcaster, although no date has been officially confirmed as of yet.
