Mary Earps remains the favourite to win 2023 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award

England Women's goalkeeper Mary Earps is now odds-on with bookmakers to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award ahead of next month's show.

Earps had moved into favourite in the market last month after being star player for England at the Women's World Cup earlier in the year including a penalty save in the Final of the tournament.

England lost that game 1-0 to Spain and that ultimately shaped up this market as an England win would have seen the list dominated by players for the National side.

Paddy Power do have Earps as favourite still despite the loss due to her fantastic performances with the latest market putting her clear at the top at odds of 8/11.

Stuart Broad second favourite in the betting market which looks like a two-horse race

Former England cricketer Stuart Broad is the second favourite to win the SPOTY award following his retirement from all forms of Cricket earlier this year.

Broad took the final wicket of the Ashes test series to tie things up in a 2-2 draw after announcing that he would be retiring the day before.

The Englishman's career could play a big part in him winning the Sports Personality of the Year award but bookmakers have him behind Earps in the betting market.

OLBG have looked at the probabilities for the award with the latest betting odds suggesting there's a 30% chance that it's Broad who wins.

Since then though Dettori announced a U-turn on his decision with plans to go to America to race over there for the next year at least.

Currently Dettori is a contestant on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! and his odds to win the SPOTY award have drifted right out to 9/1.
