We look at the last decade of winners of the Nobel Literature Prize

The last decade of Nobel Literature Prize winners has seen a large variety of backgrounds covered with a whole of different winners including American musician Bob Dylan.

Dylan won the award back in 2016 "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition" but he wasn't the first musician that won the Prize.

Rabindranath Tagore, in 1913, made "verses" that weren't spoken about as songs but they were released as such, with the reasoning given for his award due to "his profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse, by which, with consummate skill, he has made his poetic thought, expressed in his own English words, a part of the literature of the west”.
