Lyudmila Ulitskaya is the early favourite to win the 2024 Nobel Literature Prize
Lyudmila Ulitskaya is the early favourite with UK Betting Sites to win next year's Nobel Literature Prize with odds already being offered for the award just a month after this year's was announced.
The Russian Novelist has won various awards for her work including the Pak Kyong-ni Prize from South Korea in 2012 and the 2002 Russian Booker Prize.
Early betting odds for next year's Nobel Literature Prize suggest that she could be a contender for the massive award in Literature next year with a number of big names in the market.
Can Xue was the regular favourite with bookies throughout the year for this year's Prize and once again is in and around the top of the betting market for next year's award.

Jon Fosse won the 2023 Nobel Literature Prize back in October
Norwegian Novelist and Playwright Jon Fosse was announced as the winner of the 2023 Nobel Literature Prize at the start of October for his works that “give voice to the unsayable.”
Fosse’s work has been translated into more than 40 languages and this has seen him become one of the most recognisable playwrights in the world.
Winning the award gives you a total prize of 11m Swedish Krona which loosely translates to around £824,000.

The last decade of Nobel Literature Prize winners has seen a large variety of backgrounds covered with a whole of different winners including American musician Bob Dylan.
Dylan won the award back in 2016 "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition" but he wasn't the first musician that won the Prize.
Rabindranath Tagore, in 1913, made "verses" that weren't spoken about as songs but they were released as such, with the reasoning given for his award due to "his profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse, by which, with consummate skill, he has made his poetic thought, expressed in his own English words, a part of the literature of the west”.
