Chinese fiction writer Can Xue back into favourite to win the 2023 Nobel Literature Prize
Betting remains available for the Nobel Literature Prize and Can Xue is back into favourite with UK Betting Sites to win the award with bookies slashing her odds once again into 7/1 favourite to win
Deng Xiaohua, better known by her pen name Can Xue, was a contender for the award 4 years ago according to China Daily and she will be hoping to be involved once more this year.
Nominations for the award are received every year by February, with the Nobel Committee then narrowing to 20 candidates before a shortlist of five candidates is formed by May.
October then sees the prize awarded with no announcement of nominations just the winner declared and Paddy Power say there's a 7/1 chance of it being Can Xue.

What the expert says..
Haruki Muakami drifts out from 8/1 to 12/1 in the betting market
Haruki Muakami had moved into 8/1 favourite for the Nobel Literature Prize but has since drifted in the betting market in recent months.
Japanese writer Murakami had shortened into the outright favourite with his recent release 'The City and Its Uncertain Walls' released earlier this year.
Murakami was awarded the Princess of Asturias Award for Literature in May which is Spain's top arts prize and that has saw bookmakers change the betting market to put him as favourite.
Since then though he's drifted out to 12/1 in the betting market with the latest odds now putting him as 5th favourite to win the Prize this year.
When is the Nobel Prize for Literature awarded?
