Constituency Information

Steve Barclay, a Conservative, has represented the North East Cambridgeshire constituency in the UK House of Commons since 2010.

The constituency is large, rural, located in the Cambridgeshire Fens, and features a port alongside a significant farming and food production sector. Its electorate boasts higher car and house ownership rates but is generally older, less wealthy, and less healthy than the UK average. Initially served by Liberal MP Clement Freud from its 1983 creation until 1987, it has since been held by two Conservative MPs, including Barclay.
