It's Greater Manchester's safest Labour seat and among the safest nationally. Covering diverse and liberal suburbs like Gorton, Fallowfield, Levenshulme, and more, it's characterized by its ethnic diversity, lower-than-average wealth, red brick houses, a significant student population, and landmarks like the Curry Mile and Gorton Monastery. 

Labour MP Afzal Khan, serving since 2017, led with major victories 🎉. The area boasts landmarks like Curry Mile & diverse communities 🌍.

Manchester Gorton has been a Labour stronghold since 1935, with Sir Gerald Kaufman serving from 1983 until his death in 2017, which led to Khan's election. Khan secured his position with overwhelming leads in 2017 and 2019, establishing Manchester Gorton as a key Labour constituency with conservative vote shares in the single digits.
