You know how punters get lost in too much data or bet blindly? I break down the stats and trends so you can feel confident you’re betting with more than just gut instinct.

I recently wrote a blog about finding many well handicapped 3yos to go to war with over the flat season (read here How To Make Money From 3yo Handicaps) and I've recently done my first look through the 3yo handicaps to date in order to find the best races so far.
Many races haven't had a chance to work out yet but one race I picked up on is already working out astoundingly well and you can check out the form of that race on the link below.
2:40 Nottingham 10th April 2013

At a glance here is how the form is working out:
1. Mayfield Girl - Won again at Thirsk next time out
2. The Art Of Racing - Won at Ripon next time out
3. Fils Anges - Not run since
4. My Name Is Rio - Not run since
5. Secret Look - Not run since
6. Bispham Green - Finished second next time out (beaten only by Mayfield Girl franking the form even stronger)
7. Secret Missile - Finished 5/13 at Sandown after being trapped wide the whole way
8. Moviesta - Won at Doncaster next time out

Now that's pretty strong form from the first eight with three going on to win next time out, one finished second only to the winner of this race and the other horse to have run since running very well in the circumstances.
With three horses yet to run from this race I think we have the opportunity to have a decent win on all three next time out.
Bearing mind 4 of the first 6 home either led or were prominent the horses to take from the race could be those that were held up which points to improved performances from Fils Anges and Secret Look whilst My Name Is Rio also won't go unbacked considering he was hampered and stayed on well.
File Anges looks like a return to 6f will serve him well, especially since he was very unlucky not to win at Yarmouth on his season debut over 6f. Fils Anges is due to run in the 4.25 at Newmarket on Saturday and the biggest question mark could be the ground (only win came on good to soft, he's never run on good to firm, recent good runs have been on good) but since Michael Bell has said that he hated the soft ground on his debut I'm confident good to firm will be fine.
There are a few other horses who could be well handicapped in this race but Fils Anges looks to have enough in his locker to cope with anything in this race even considering a 4lb rise in the weights.
Also in this race is Secret Missile, who finished a length behind Fils Anges at Nottingham. Given their relative form it would be rude not to have a decent forecast on the pair.

Summary

So in the 4.25 at Newmarket on Saturday I'll be having hefty bets on Fils Anges to win and Fils Anges to beat Secret Missile in a forecast. Going forward it is very much worth keeping an eye on My Name Is Rio and Secret Look who are worth backing next time out, especially if Fils Anges and Secret Missile frank the form again here. I'll be adding all these runners to the Horse Alerts Thread on the forum too.
I'll continue to keep blog readers up to date with the 3yo handicaps that are most likely to produce winners and in a month or two I should be able to produce a list of 15 or so very likely next time out winners, hopefully after these ones have already done the business for us!
