With an overall score of 6.29 /10, it is Fulham FC’s stadium which takes the title as the favourite Premier League stadium of fans. As the oldest ground in London, Craven Cottage has served Fulham fans for generations, and this rich history has likely contributed to its first-place ranking on our list.

Bramall Lane, Sheffield United - 6.11 /10

Up next on our list of the Premier League stadiums with the highest overall fan ratings is Bramall Lane, scoring 6.11 /10. This stadium has shared some real ups and downs with the Sheffield United team and its fans, but after being relegated from the Premier League, back in 2021, the team are set to make their return to this league in the upcoming 2023/24 season.

Anfield, Liverpool & City Ground, Nottingham Forest - 5.93 /10

Sharing the third spot in our list, with an overall score of 5.93 /10, is Liverpool FC’s ground, Anfield, and Nottingham Forest’s stadium, the City Ground. With capacities of around 54,000 and 30,500 respectively, both Anfield and the City Ground have had their fair share of visitors over the years. Despite this, both stadiums have received rave reviews from visitors which has earned them joint third place in our list.

Lowest Rated Premier League Stadiums

Kenilworth Road, Luton Town -  London Stadium, West Ham United - Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace - 0.56 /10

Kenilworth Road, London Stadium and Selhurst Park all share the same overall fan rating of just 0.56 /10 - lower than any of the other stadiums on our list. Whilst Luton Town have only just fought their way back to the Premier League, West Ham United and Crystal Palace have been competing at the highest level for years. Despite this, all of these teams’ stadiums have fallen short in the eyes of fans, evidenced by their position on our ranking.

Vitality Stadium, AFC Bournemouth - Turf Moor, Burnley- 1.3 /10

Burnley’s stadium Turf Moor and AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium appear next on our list of Premier League stadiums with the lowest fan ratings. Despite the low overall score of just 1.3 /10, these stadiums should not be overlooked as they both have an average Tripadvisor rating of 4.5 /5.

St James’ Park, Newcastle United - American Express Community Stadium, Brighton & Hove Albion- 2.59 /10

Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion have been competing in the Premier League since the 2017/18 season, but that's not the only thing that these teams have in common. With a score of 2.59 /10, their stadiums, named St James’ Park and the American Express Community Stadium, share the same score which puts them on our list of the Premier League stadiums with the lowest overall fan ratings.

Riverside Stadium has a higher overall fan rating than any other football stadium in the EFL Championship - totalling 8.03 /10

Just below the Premier League in terms of top-tier English football is the EFL Championship. All of the teams here are fighting for a chance to be promoted to the big league, and the standard of their stadium must match the high-quality football being played. Below is a list of the stadiums with the highest overall fan ratings in this league.

Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough - 8.03 /10

Home to Middlesbrough FC, the Riverside Stadium has an overall score of 8.03 /10 - higher than any other EFL Championship team on our list. The Riverside Stadium was built in the 1990s, making this ground one of the most recent builds in our Football Stadium Report. Having said this, what it lacks in history it certainly makes up for in quality, evidenced by its first-place entry on our list.

Elland Road, Leeds United & King Power Stadium, Leicester City - 6.06 /10

Despite finishing joint second on our list, Leicester and Leeds United both failed to perform last season which resulted in their relegation to the EFL Championship for the upcoming 2023/24 season.

Whilst they may be performing in a lower league, the quality of their stadiums appears to be top-tier, with both Elland Road and the King Power Stadium scoring 6.06 /10 when it comes to overall fan rating.

Lowest rated EFL Championship stadiums

Hillsborough Stadium, Sheffield Wednesday - 0.91 /10

With an overall score of 0.91 /10, Hillsborough Stadium has the lowest overall fan rating of all stadiums in the EFL Championship. Although this stadium is synonymous with the tragedy of the Hillsborough disaster back in the 1980s, Sheffield Wednesday have carried out millions of pounds worth of work over the last few years to ensure that this stadium is as safe and secure as it can be for fans.

John Smith’s Stadium, Huddersfield Town & Loftus Road, Queens Park Rangers - 1.21 /10

Sharing the second spot on our list is Huddersfield Town and Queens Park Rangers’ football grounds, named John Smith’s Stadium and Loftus Road respectively. Some of the likely reasons for these stadium’s position on our list is the 3.5 /5 average Yelp rating for the John Smith’s stadium and Loftus Road’s 4.1 /5 average Google rating. Even though these ratings may sound good, they are lower than most other stadiums in the EFL Championship.

Methodology

We used Football Database to make a list of all the football teams in the English Premier League for the 2023/24 season. This source was also used to make a list of the EFL Championship teams for the 2023/24 season.

We used Google reviews, Tripadvisor and Yelp to find the rating of each football stadium out of five. Any teams for which we were unable to find all of the data were removed.

We used the stadium factors (Google reviews, Tripadvisor reviews, Yelp reviews) and normalised each factor out of 10 before taking an average of those scores to get our overall ‘stadium score’.
