Who Will Be The Next Leeds United Manager
Below are potential candidates should the job become available today based on previous people appearing in the betting odds when the position was vacant last time, to others who have a profile that would fit the club in terms of the last few managers they have had.
Michael Skubala

Skubala started his coaching career managing the England Futsal team, he left that job to take over as head coach for the Leeds reserves and youth team. When Jesse Marsch was shown the Leeds door he became interim coach of the first team
Steven Gerrard
After starting his managerial journey as a youth coach at Liverpool Gerrard was appointed at Glasgow Rangers (June 2018 - November 2021). His time at Ibrox was hugely successful with the Scottish giants winning their first title in 9 years under his management. When Dean Smith was sacked at Aston Villa Gerrard was appointed to the West Midlands club, however, results were disappointing (PL 40 W13, D8, L19) and he was dismissed in October 2022. In 2023 he moved to Saudi Arabia to manage Al-Ettifaq.
Marcelo Gallardo

The former Nacional (Uruguay) and River Plate (Argentina) manager has won both of those countries' top leagues in his time at those clubs. He spent the vast amount of his managerial career at River Plate (2014-22). Gallardo received South American Manager of the Year in 2018, 2019, and 2020. He is regarded as one of the most innovative coaches in the world and it would be a real coup if Leeds United had him as their next manager.
Arne Slot

In his first managerial job, Arne Slot was appointed at AZ Alkmaar. His tenure lasted 18 months when he was sacked by the Dutch side reportedly for not being focused when Feyenoord came calling. He moved to the Rotterdam club in July 2021 and promptly got them to the Europa Conference Final, where they lost to Jose Mourinho's Roma 1-0. Feyenoord also finished in 3rd place in the Eredivisie that season and he was named Manager of the Year.
Carlos Corberan
The Spaniard is currently at West Bromwich Albion. As an assistant manager at Leeds United, he helped Marcelo Bielsa get the club back into the EPL in 2020 before moving on to manage Huddersfield and then Olympiacos.
Alfred Schreuder
Longevity in jobs is not a trait we associate with the 50-year-old Dutchman so both he and Leeds United will be taking a risk if appointing the former Twente, and Ajax manager.
Ruben Amorim

Ruben Amorim had been heavily supported for the Aston Villa job before Unai Emery was appointed. The current Sporting CP manager has been at the club since March 2020. He guided the Portuguese club to their first Primera Liga title in 19 years in his first season in charge. The 2022/23 season has started slowly for Sporting and this has heightened speculation of him moving to England.
