John T is in stall 2, which is fine for getting cover in a very small field. This 3-year-old has shown enough in four runs to suggest to me that improvement is likely. Trained by Jonathan Portman and ridden again by Joe Leavy, he has yet to win but has placed twice from 4 starts, giving him a 50% place rate. He has run well in maidens before but did not get a clear run on handicap debut at Newbury when down the field, but that effort can still be forgiven. He is still very unexposed, and his mark of 75 could prove extremely fair with a smoother trip today. Every chance in this small field open company.
