Monks Hill actually brings an interesting profile into this. She made plenty of the running when upped to 1m after a break, showed me plenty of speed to lead and only faded late, which was a fair effort in a 0-70 from a mark of 54. Now she drops into an easier 0-60 grade off 53, and with a first-time hood it could help her settle and see the trip out better here.

Y Y Star is very raw but not without potential here and this sort of maiden looks exactly the right place for him. On paper he’s bred to be sharp, being a Zoustar out of an Exceed and Excel mare, so dropping into a mile fits here. In a smallish field where several are similarly inexperienced, another step forward is perfectly possible today.

Bolo Neighs looks like a solid, still unexposed 4yo who should be very competitive here off 92, with a good-value 5 lb claimer booked also. This is only his third AW start, and he’s already placed on Polytrack, so there’s a fair bit of upside compared with many of these more exposed handicappers here, IMO.
