The in-form Eve Johnson Houghton runs the likely favorite Havana Hurricane, who hasn't done a great deal wrong. However, I'm taking him on with the Richard Hughes-trained Our Cody. The 2-year-old Kodi Bear filly only cost 3k and could turn out to be a fantastic buy. Got off the mark at the third time of asking with relative ease, winning by 6 lengths, and the second franked the form by winning yesterday. Luke Morris has been tasked to make the 8-2 weight, and off bottom weight, I think she will go close.

Eve Johnson Houghton's terrible record in this gives one courage to go against what is likely to be the best form. Fahey has historically done well here, winning it 3 times. Another with high draw around the pace who doesn't like to be too prominent, and this likely ends in pace collapse. Ran okay 2nd in May when stable out of form. Has since notched 2 on the bounce, both by 0.5L. She looks to only ever really do enough and unlikely to be winning by multiple lengths; however, has battled well in both the previous wins. Nice low weight and has every chance. Also backed Anthelia.

A big sales race. The fav for this race was a good winner at Royal Ascot in a Listed contest but he was held up and had a smooth passage and he might not get the same luxury in a 20 runner contest at this track. The selection was a close 5th of 23 in the same race at Ascot, always at the front end, getting no breather, not a smooth passage but he did look like he had hit the front to win inside the final furlong. The selection can reverse that form, he’s a much better value bet and I like the jockey change.
