8:00 Kempton Tips

Interesting handicap debutant. Decent 2nd on her last run in October. That was a decent performance, probably ran to a mark of high 70s, so this mark is about right for her to be starting off in handicaps.

It's a tricky, competitive race. I have plumped for this one on the basis of its impressive C/D win latest in a Class 2 event. Down in grade tonight, it could make it a follow-up win.

Has a high draw to contend with, but was pipped by a head here last time out less than two weeks ago and goes off at a similar mark. There are question marks on a lot of the others including a long break for the favourite who has bottom draw.

Did well last season, placed from a pound higher on her final start. Well below that level on her 2023 return, but she is entitled to improve for the effort, and this is a drop in grade for her.

I'm backing Powdering in the 19:00 at Kempton. This 5-year-old mare, trained by Michael Herrington, has shown consistent form on the all-weather tracks, particularly at Kempton, where she has multiple placings. Her recent fourth-place finish at Newcastle over 7f indicates she's maintaining her form. Dropping back to 6f could play to her strengths, allowing her to utilize her speed and stamina effectively. With a favorable draw and a racing style that suits Kempton's track, she has the potential to secure a prominent position early on. Given her track record and current form, Powdering presents a solid each-way opportunity in this race.

Huge drop in class. Showed good form in France. Worth an Each Way bet at the price. Also, the trainer is in very good form as of late.

Made a winning debut over C/D last season when taking a class 5 novice and followed that up with a impressive 8 length win in same grade @ Wolverhampton. Did not look @ home on final start @ Newcastle and made a fair comeback in a class 3 handicap on turf @ Newmarket, so should come on for that run. Good apprentice who is not allowed their claim here retains ride and in hands of a shrewd trainer, making current 28/1 solid Ew value in the race.

Happy to take a chance on Primrose Path. A nice winner when last seen at Kempton, sat in 2nd last position, before making a move towards the outside, swinging back in to win cosily finishing well. The form of that run has worked out with the runner up winning next time and is 7lb higher, along with the 3rd who won their next start and is 4lb higher. Primrose Path is just 5lb higher, yard form is fine, though not winning, whilst the jockey is full of confidence for his 5lb claim, racking up a quickfire hat trick on Zappata. Now, has a tricky draw to contend with, out wide, but as a hold up type, she can be dropped in easy and come wide with a run. If the track is playing ball, suiting finishers then she can go well.
