Talented sort who last won at Thirsk in April off a 4 lbs lower mark than today. Ran well when last seen over course and distance but wandered when hitting the front early. Shay Farmer (SR 25%) now claims 7 lbs and will likely be set a task of holding this horse a little later for his run. Capable, useful sort.

Returned from a break with an eye-catching run in 6th on a decent handicap at Ripon in June and will certainly come on for the run. Got boxed in that day but ran on when in the clear and hopefully gets better luck today.

3-time winner for Rae Guest last season, who took a big step forward on the second start for Jack Jones when 4th at Chepstow last time. Down another lb, and another step forward should put her firmly in the mix this afternoon.

Her first 3 starts (213) were impressive, but the switch to handicaps has not gone to plan, especially since last October. LTO was still poor when she finished 10th of 10 at Thirsk last month. However, a bigger drop in mark and a drop down in class gives her an opportunity to bounce back strongly.

Mu Mu Land is in stall 2, which is ideal for a handy sit, and returns 55 days after a quiet reappearance over course and distance where he was beaten 8 lengths. That should have blown the cobwebs away, and he now wears cheekpieces for the first time, which could sharpen him up. He won at this trip last season, and his mark of 72 looks fair to me if he improves from that last run. Trained by Julie Camacho, who won this race last year, and drawn to get a good tow into a solid pace, he has each-way claims if stepping forward here but going for the win today.

This horse is the rank outsider in this 9-runner field, but 25/1 to finish in the first 3 looks excellent value to me for this bottom weight in first-time blinkers. It's clear that the horse is a 6-furlong horse, so it was no surprise to see him bang there at this trip here last time out before fading in the final furlong. This is clearly going to be much more suitable, and he's been dropped another 2lb for that effort to 65. Some of his novice form would have him comfortably as a mid-70s horse, so he looks to have a great chance here, especially if the blinkers bring about any further improvement.
