Richard Kingscote rides this course better than most, and he was only beaten a head on the AW last time out, which was his first time on the horse. A return to turf and decent ground is a positive for me since the horse's last race under those conditions was here in a maiden over C&D, where the 2nd and 3rd have won since. The stable's runners are going well, and the cheekpieces go on for the first time now. Certainly shouldn't be anywhere near as big as 28/1, in my opinion.

Bob Mali is a former course and distance winner who is race fit from a good second place at Newmarket. He is ideally drawn in stall 2 for a fast break and prominent run throughout, provided he can cope with the faster going as his C&D win was on heavy.

Diligently ran six times as a two-year-old and had to wait until his last outing before entering the winner's enclosure. That was in a class two race at York over six furlongs back in August where Diligently won by a head. He is dropped down to a class three race today, with Safie Osbourn getting the ride for the first time. From an ideal draw, Diligently should make his presence felt, providing he is ready and primed after a lengthy absence.

Hugo Palmer will be targeting this meeting, so this looks overpriced considering he is in stall 3 and has shown plenty of early speed, including a 2nd here and in a listed event last time where he faded in the last furlong. But that was over 7f; this is 6f. In a recent stable tour, Palmer mentioned this horse is very quick and seems to be getting quicker. Must be worth a bet.

Cyclonite arrives in great form and continues to go under the radar. He won on seasonal return at Kempton, then followed up with back-to-back 3rd place finishes in Class 2 handicaps at Newcastle and Southwell. His latest effort was arguably a career-best, finishing 3rd of 14 on All-Weather Finals Day behind the impressive Berkshire Whisper, who completed a hat trick of wins. While the turf surface is a slight unknown, he’s clearly improving, remains consistent, and keeps the same jockey on board. Stall 6 gives him options tactically, especially as he likes to race prominently. In a wide-open contest. Good luck!

Was progressive throughout his two-year-old career, winning on his final start at Leicester on heavy ground. Made a disappointing return to action at Newmarket, but that run might well have been needed. He needs to improve to play a part in this. Probably playing for minor honours.

Cressida Wildes finished 4th at Newmarket last time out. She is a free going sort and if she can get to the front from her draw she can outrun her odds in this race.
