The horse has run really well in better races than this on his last two seasonal openers. Struggled last season but this handicap mark of 75 is nine pounds lower than when last seen on turf in October last year. Could be very ready to go after a break and worth a play for the win at 20-1 in a 12 runner race.

One of the younger runners here, so would be looking for progression, being less exposed. Tries the tongue tie for the first time. Kieran Shoemark picks up the reins. Strike has never really convinced on an all-weather surface, so it was no surprise on his debut this season 33 days ago when he finished 4th of 13 over 7f. He should strip fitter for that, and the return to turf and the drop back to 6f should suit. The yard is in form, and Rob Hornby has won on him twice before, both over today's trip and both with the ground on the fast side. He looks overpriced and makes plenty of each-way appeal.
