Willie Mullins' favourite must be respected, but Maestro Conti travelled well into the Triumph Hurdle and looked a little unlucky to get collared up the Cheltenham hill. He might be happier at Aintree, and the going will suit. He has looked smart on all four starts (including a Grade 2 success), and that last outing was his sole defeat so far.

Odds on here, but Lulamba has the back class to win what doesn't appear a strong renewal of this 2m4f novice chase. Ran well in a strong Arkle but made a mistake at the second last. Finished within five lengths of two very good Willie Mullins-trained jumpers and eighteen lengths clear of the fourth. Three easy chase victories prior to Cheltenham this term. Expected to score.

Jango Baie is the obvious answer to this 3m1f chase. Nicky Henderson (SR 25%) and Nico de Boinville (SR 25%) continue in strong form since Cheltenham. Beaten just half a length when favorite for the King George at Kempton, he proved he stays three miles when a solid second in the Cheltenham Gold Cup last time. Just seven years old, he has improved for the move to chasing. Willie Mullins' entry is respected (PU last time), but Jango Baie has the clear best form on offer, and at odds of around 11-8 is a little tempting as a bet.

There wasn't much (just a neck) between Barton Snow and It's On The Line in the Foxhunters at Cheltenham, and old favourite It's On The Line looks backable here at odds of 9-2. That was the Emmet Mullins-trained 9yo's fourth consecutive second place in that race, which takes some doing. Winner of this race in 2024 and won at Punchestown following Cheltenham last year. 2m 5f suits. It's On The Line definitely has a big shout.

There were only a few lengths left behind four of these when all trailed Lossiemouth up the Cheltenham hill in the Champion Hurdle. Brighterdaysahead at least gave it a go from the front, stayed on, and it's of note that this mare (who receives the standard mares' allowance here) beat Lossiemouth in the Grade 1 Irish Champion Hurdle on her penultimate start. Coasted to victory in the Mersey Novices' Hurdle over course and distance at this Festival in April 2024, so lots of positives. Gordon Elliott trained. Jack Kennedy rides.

Sans Bruit is taken to make it three out of three in this race. Paul Nicholls (SR 27%) and Harry Cobden (SR 24%) are in good form. He has been out of form this season and runs off a mark three pounds higher than last year, but it doesn't look a strong renewal. He was well behind Highlands Legacy at Windsor last time but is eight pounds better off now. Course, distance, and prevailing conditions are known to suit. Still only eight years old. Obvious chance.

Gary and Josh Moore-trained Timamzel ran out a cool winner of a Listed mares' bumper at Sandown just prior to Cheltenham. A little keen there, she is entitled to progress yet. Interesting pedigree: by No Risk At All out of an unraced mare by American sire Goldneyev (many Flat winners). Aintree will likely suit. Solid chance at 11-2.
